What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I was sick too. Had an engine swap scheduled that didn't go through.

Sold a ton of parts off the last truck. Dropped off the "new" 120k mile engine/supercharger to be checked out. Leak down and compression came back perfect. Got a 7th injector kit and some other parts coming to crank the boost up, larger Walbro fuel pump, wideband gauge and bung welded in. Also some SPC upper's since I sold my used Icon stuff as well. Got the new greasable balljoint models for under $400 shipped, couldn't pass it up.

Finished painting my AOR rear bumper. As the front was (for me at least) perfect fitment. Even side to side by 1/32nd of an inch. Bolt holes lined up excellent. Just rested it on the frame rails and slid it forward. Very easy install, glad I didn't have to wait 2 months for the bastard though :)

Bought it from a family at 195k. had the engine rebuilt. redid all of the suspension, tires. cleaned it up. DD'd it about 15k miles and the engine blew up on me.

My new tires and spare wheel showed up today and I picked up some of my steel. I need to find a different shop with some in stock.

I always loved the red interior lights on the Audi I had, and after I got the 4Runner, I hated the pale/dim green lights. So a few days ago I ordered red LEDs. Here is the results, hotspots don't look as bad in person, and the color looks amazing!

My clock showed some signs of life today, but its out again, I'll mess with it more soon. Also is there a way to get the A/C button to light up red? I also put white LEDs in the map lights and my license plate lights, they turned out great, but no pictures.

Also on order, should be coming this week, are some LED dome/cargo light panels. I ordered 2 sets, some red ones, and some white ones. If I hate the red for the domes, I'll just put the white ones in.

With the help of D Farms we burned out the old bushings on a set of UCAs. He cut them and did the welding ( last time I welded anything was in 1991). I get to clean them up for paint. Have a set of Energy Suspension bushings ready to go. We didn't get crazy chopping away at the arms because in all honesty after discussing the matter it's really just all that extra material around where the UBJ goes that's causing issues for me anyways. I don't plan on running giant tyres, maybe 285's max.

My cost. Bull shit time and some shocks I don't use.
BTW, was looking at NAPA online and saw some LR style UCAs but NAPA branded, anyone know anything about them?

First off, everything looks great! I went with blue, but the red looks awesome!

As for the AC button... If the button cover is clear where the light shines through, then yes, you can. You'd have to get into that part of the air conditioning controls and replace the factory bulb with a red LED. I haven't opened it up, but my best guess is that it's a 3mm LED. You'd also have to check the resistor value in the circuit because red LEDs have a significantly lower forward voltage. If the ac button cover is green tinted, then I do not know.

Someone else might have better information for you.

Added some small LED bars on the back to give additional lighting for reverse. I opted to wire them to a switch instead of using the reverse lights because I wanted the option of using them without having to be in reverse.

Pulled 5100's

My passenger side front shock s leaking. I work at a shop and I called my sales guy to see if he could wArrenty it for me. He said yes and then said I might as well do both. :frisky:

If you splice the power wire and combine the reverse light power with it then you'll have the option to turn on with the switch and it will automatically come on when in reverse. That's how my rear bar is set up. What kind of leds did you use?

I hadn't thought about that. That's a great idea. I just don't see needing them all that often. I do a lot of in city driving and even at night mostly in places that are well lit enough. I wanted them more for when I go to Canada to camp.

I used some cheap Nilight ones I picked up from Amazon. They seem well designed. They're 6 3w cree high intensity leds. It ran me $15 for the pair, so if they go bad, I'm not that worried.

If anyone is interested, here is the link.

Ya, you need to solder in a red led and a resistor. Mine lights up blue.

Installed maglite flash light.

Can slide the seat all the way forward and back, not in the way of legs and it's right there.

I've wanted to do this for my normal reverse lights just to get the jerks riding me to back off sometimes.
Someone tailing 2 feet behind you going 70 down the interstate? Throw the manual toggle switch for the reverse lights! That'll scare them for a second!
*Disclaimer-most likely VERY illegal; don't really do this*
