Got it all buttoned up last weekend. Anyone thinking about upgrading there stock speakers, you dont know what you are missing :guitar3::guitar2::drum: I threw on some Corrosion of Conformity "Clean my Wounds" it was soooo clear and smooth , i could hear the guitarist's fingers sliding up and down the strings.:rockon:

What brand of speakers? Did you replace tweeters too?

Yes...replaced the front 5 1/2 and tweeter with Infinity #6030CS component speakers.

I unscrewed the plastic plates that run along the truck, to get to the seatbelt mechanism. Ended up breaking one of the tabs. Now the plate doesn't sit flush and is loose.

Any ideas how I can secure the plate?

Are there replacement plates? I have a moon mist interior.

Finally got my bumper on, after much procrastination followed by some crafty use of a floor jack:

4xInnovation fronts and rears, with some custom grilles (to screen the access ports until I decide to add a winch) and Rigid D2's with amber covers for winter nighttime assist.

Super happy with the bumpers, only regret is not getting the tire carrier on the rear--the spare won't fit underneath, which is a bummer but entirely my fault (I measured the tire width with the vehicle's weight on it, so it came in just under the 30" limit... of course, without the weight, it's just slightly too large. Damn.) So, no spare in the meantime, and likely a carrier later this year.

Just deflate your flat a bit and carry a little air compressor around

Mine needs a paint job bad. Looks like the previous owner had it repainted at some point and they did a god awful job.

Funny you should mention that, because I was thinking the same, and dabbled with it a bit. I aired the spare down to around 10 PSI, and then started using a ratchet strap to cinch it up, but I was worried that it was ultimately going to leave a permanent indentation in the tire.

But I think I don't know enough to make an informed decision. Good idea for a post.

Since it's a little dark for my liking, especially when not lit up by the setting sun like it was in that pic, I'll probably do the unthinkable and respray it flat khaki or something like I had foolishly thought desert tan would look like

Over the past week I finished the big three upgrade with 0 gauge wire (lol), ran 0 gauge from the battery to my amps, mounted my bluesea fuse box and welded a bit of 1/8" sheet metal onto the stock battery clamp to make my redtop fit.

Gonna replace the timing belt(along with the tensioners), water pump and engine temp sensor soon. And while I'm at it ill be getting my CS144 alt installed, and installing a transmission cooler with inline fluid control thermostat.

I had a life back when I didnt have this truck.... Hahahaha

I got the idea from an old post here. I'm pretty sure thats what one guy did. I cant remember the dudes username... Ugghhhhh this is gonna drive me nuts!

It looks really good as is, personally. I like the darker color with the black trim, but it is all down to preference. Either way will be nice.

Backed into a godamn tree at my parents' house :shocked: Of course with my damn luck the more expensive part got damaged,the tailgate...why couldn't it have been the rear bumper,it already has a dent from the previous owner. I'm so mad at myself right now :ybrick:

New member here and my first post... Just picked up a 2001 4Runner Sport in Imperial Jade Mica with 88k that was garage kept by the original owner and incredibly well taken care of. T-belt already serviced and body in excellent condition with very little rust anywhere underneath. Only things it had were a cold air intake and a touch screen in dash navigation system with bluetooth and an ipod cable for charging. It had a few common gremlins with the dead factory clock and dead power antenna. Front rotors were also warped which led me to upgrade right away to the 13WL 231mm Tundra front calipers with Brembo rotors and Toyota pads. I also added a B&M 70264 external trans cooler at the same time to protect the trans. The last thing mod for now was removing the factory running boards which I have listed on craigslist already(hit me up if anybody needs them). The truck has Michelin's on it already with lots of tread so it'll keep me from doing a suspension lift until it needs tires again. I've already put this forum to good use as there's so much good info on these trucks here it's scary. Down the road I'll look to lift it 2-3" and go with a bigger tire but it''ll be just fine for now. I'll only be using it sparingly to hunt and fish and tow my 16' aluminum boat. Look forward to posting updates as I go down the upgrade path here and I'll post better pics of the truck when I take them.

Depleted my bank account HEAVILY this week... LOL! I did some maintenance on the truck a couple weeks ago with new Denso IK22 Iridium plugs and NGK wires and new valve cover gaskets. With Memorial Day sales and my truck starting to need suspension now seeing the back sag when I tow my boat it was time to start spending MORE...
