What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Where did you get that deal from?Speaking of the TBU, a lovely package showed up on my porch this morning. Rotors too, just not pictured. $275 for all, and no mention of having to return any cores.
Put new rotors and pads along KYB Monomax HD shocks all around. My 4Runner will never be off road (on purpose) but I really like how much better it handles with new lower ball joints and all tie rod ends and a fresh alignment. I was thinking I might sell mine, but it drives so well I'll keep it for at least another couple of winters. Also replaced the exhaust with stock parts, love the quiet compared to my GTI!

Replace clutch master and slave cylinders. Fairly easy job. Access to master is tight but doable without removing any other parts.
Changed the oil too.
I think she'll pass state inspection now

Removed bike bottle recovery tank and replaced with original...
bought bike rack, had it modded, banged it up a bunch....
based on how well the mast height worked when wheeling
(but not the swing-arm, though amazing it's not more bent and still works considering the many hits it took- it's bent in the picture)
we'll probably extend the mast on our Thule Parkway as well.
Also got a new windshield. The original one turned out to be bronze (and it was oe), not blue. I went ahead and had the blue one put in, the color difference between windshield and rest of the glass doesn't bother me and having the shaded area at the top that the bronze didn't have is awesome.
Replaced my chewed up must have tasted too much rock right rack boot with one I had laying around from Beck Arnley, which is a much nicer boot. Flexible enough to stretch over the outer tie rod end.

Bought my first 4runner yesterday! Almost no rust underneath, you wouldn't believe how well it was maintained. Flew out to CO to buy it, drove it 600 mi back the same day.
Long list of stuff I want to do, waiting for parts to arrive for some of it.
Removed running boards, bug deflector, window deflectors, lithium greased doors.
Love this thing already, can't wait to see how many miles I can rack up with good maintenance. Amazed at how active this forum is, so much good info and ideas already - thanks to all.

Hey what fog lights are those? They look like good replacements for the dealer installed Hellas that some of us have.

Changed front diff oil, installed a new drain bolt because old one had been roughed up, new washers for drain+fill bolts.
I had a slow drip from the front diff drain bolt and assumed I had forgotten the washer when I did it like ~2 years ago.
Turns out the washer was intact, I have no idea why the drain bolt was weeping but hopefully the new one alleviates. In any event I'll seldom see because...
RCI front and transmission skid installed. I painted the visible sides yesterday and the other sides this morning. Turns out it hadn't really hardened so I got some printing on the visible side :rockthrow:
Apparently I need to paint my front bumper again. I have no idea how I'll ever do that, pretty sure I tightened every bolt like a gorilla, the winch was a pain in the penis to put on and will be a pain in the penis to take off, and e'ry bolt is prone to snap. Everywhere.
Solar all tidy minus wires needing to be zip tied. I think I can still slide some small flat stuff under the panels from the back and then bungee.. thinking my aluminum folding camp tables, extending poles for kelty awning, and a 3rd 100w panel (flexible) stored for travel on extended trips.

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?
Finished the paint correction last night and finally installed new shoes on it today.
Level 8 MK6 16x8 +0 with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires.
It's weird that they still rub on hard turns and over big bumps. It's on stock 2001 suspension.
Much better than what the previous owner had on there.

Oh my :wow: That's a bit disconcerting
On the plus side, I didn't notice any performance loss so it's fair to say that the intake is pretty adequately sized considering I was down to about 15-20% space for air to pass through.
