ARB Compressor CKMA12 Install

Installed the ARB CKMA12 in the rear storage area and cleaned up my wiring under the hood a bit. I hope I'm satisfied with the CKMA12. I'll be putting it to the test this week.

Tough install considering I had to route the 10ga wires for the solenoid from the rear through the firewall along with the 20ga wires for the pressure switch. Securing it to the storage area required some ingenuity as well. I'll throw this in my build later on.

I'm real pleased the way everything turned out.

Haven't done much work to it lately, but I did load up the kayaks for a little trip up the bayou this weekend. The roll down rear window made hauling two yaks super convenient.

Been working non-stop too much. I think I have some vacation time right around the corner. I want to get out and away a bit with the runner.

They can, but requires more innovation and that stupid green stuff they say grows on trees but I have never seen it except from working my butt off. But I know what your saying, my last overland trip made me really think about the future and longevity of everything. But it is paid off...haha

Yeah, mine is paid off but worth next to nothing. High mileage, irreversible 'me only' mods, hacky DIY paint job... might as well keep her around. Times like these really make me pissed that my 'perfect' vehicle (Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 4x4) was a lemon, and instead of buying another truck I bought a freaking Subaru in November. I'm pretty upside down in that loan too, didn't have much cash to put in on a downpayment because Chrysler was dragging their feet paying my attorney/me, and once they did I had already grown accustom to the Subaru's monthly and promptly spent it elsewhere :embarassed:

I bet going back to 265/75/16's in load range C or something would be a world better than 285/75/16's in load range E... especially with a pop up behind me at elevation... might try to find a friend to swap with for a weekend and evaluate. Damn shame that regearing isn't an easy DIY, or cheap.

Finished installing the Lexus IS300 seats yesterday... what a pain in the ass, but man was it worth it!

They are so comfortable... feels like a whole new truck! They are super dirty after sitting in my garage for years, but should be getting them detailed soon. Oh, the seat heaters will be nice this winter

How did you manage to fit those? Do the buttons still work? The front seats are worn out on my 1999 limited and those look like they match pretty well

I was only able to use 1 of the 4 seat mounts on each IS300 seat, the other 3 had to be cut and welded...

How did you manage to fit those? Do the buttons still work? The front seats are worn out on my 1999 limited and those look like they match pretty well

They fit damn near perfect width wise. They do sit quite a bit higher than the stock seats, if you are 6' tall or more then these might not be the best option. The color matches really well with the tan in my 97 SR5.

Got my "new to me" spotlight wired in. It doesnt look like much, but holy cow its bright! I'll get a night picture this week.

I snagged it out of a recently decommissioned ambulance at work. They retail for about $100
They recently started making LED spotlights with the same housing. They're $300. For now, the halogen works great for me!

Just to get an idea, I ran it under the center console and out of the back cup holders.
I'm still looking for a MUCH cleaner solution for the tie-in.
I'm thinking about using a power hook-up they use in big rigs for the CB.

I also snagged a rear cover off CL for $50 yesterday.

Unfortunately, I paid little attention to the brackets when I picked it up because it was advertised as it was from an 02 model.
Obviously not since it wont fit on my 01, and I have a good understanding that the 01-02 brackets are compatible.

Good thing, is that there is a 2000 4runner at the salvage yard here and I know it has the brackets I need. So i'll just swap them out.
I also read that the older covers are better built so maybe it's not such a bad thing.

Now, if I can just get that elocker out of that 2000 at the salvage yard and put it in my 01...

No problem... I'm 5'8" on a good day LOL

You might be able to drop the seats a couple of inches during the install, but it probably make it ever harder to do... they are damn comfortable though!!!
