Looks like the guy was in a hurry to get it done and just started slapping it together. I'd take it back and have them at least fix the boot!

Finally got my hood color matched and installed my LC shocks Also I'm being a lazy @$$ and not wanting to buy a 200$ hood scoop anyone have one for cheap :naughty:

Yes, it was done at a "stealer ship" under the LBJ recall. Seems like they fixed one thing and broke the other. I didn't get the chance to go today, but I'm definitely going back on Monday and I'll report back with the results. Might need to create a new thread if it doesn't end well...

Been an idiot for the past two days chasing down why my truck wouldn't start. After multiple hours of work and replacing stuff finally realized my battery terminals just needed to be cleaned... Which should have been the first thing I did.

Oh man, you should have read a few pages back. I just did that yesterday. Terminals and grounds should always be the first thing checked with any electrical issues. I make it a point to remove the grounds and clean them at least once a year on all my vehicles. With my 4runner it was a super dirty positive terminal at the battery. No build up of any kind observable from the battery but inside the terminal ring was black. I quick 30 second scrub with a 3/4" inch cleaning brush and it fired right up.

Driveshaft
Swapped out my driveshaft with what looks like one bad u-joint for a better one that I picked up from a junkyard. Did the swap in the corner or a Walmart parking lot, since we are in an Airbnb with a strict HOA for the next few weeks...
When I'm able in a month or so I'll swap out the bad u-joint on the old driveshaft to learn how to do that, and hopefully have an extra good one sitting around.

Mine happened after installing ditch lights, so I assumed I had shorted something out or blown something with faulty wiring. Looking back at it now, with my positive terminal having corrosion on it I can only assume that taking the terminal off to connect power to the ditch lights broke the connection through the corrosion, and when I reinstalled it wouldn't get enough juice through the cables. Threw me off cause I could jump start it fine but that was it. On the plus side my battery was 4 years old so I probably needed one, and it was probably the cause of the corrosion
Ive had my new truck(156k) for almost 2k miles and wanted to change the spark plugs just to be on the safe side.
I randomly picked one to start with, pulled it, didn't pay any attention, and stood there like an idiot for 10 minutes trying to get my new
plug to start threading.
Finally after a few choice words, I looked and noticed my old spark plug had a sleeve on it. I guess the PO stripped it out at one time.
With fingers crossed, I checked the others and they were all fine. I replaced the other five, and cleaned up the stripped one the
best I could until I can find another sleeve.
Really bummed out about that.
I randomly picked one to start with, pulled it, didn't pay any attention, and stood there like an idiot for 10 minutes trying to get my new

Plastic dipped my new 5thgen wheels last night and got some pics this morning. Now, before anyone dogs on plastic dip, as long as its done right, it turns out alright!
This afternoon while i had most the dash apart so i could run wires for a spotlight,
i started poking around with a little red button and an on/off switch from the PO. did some searching on here and i guess its some kind of alarm system.
goes to a big cluster of wires and a shock sensor :shrug:
I finally figured out that the red push button is for the "valet" mode on my alarm system. And that the "on/off" toggle switch is also part of the alarm.
It controls the remote start...toggled on, it allows the remote start to work from the fob. toggled off completely disables the remote start.
I found this info in the "secruikey+5" manual. I just missed it when I was glancing over my owners manual :doh:
If anyone needs it, I can scan it and pm it you.

Went to a crawling event over the weekend at KSRocks recreation park. Me and a friend have been wanting to check it out and figured since the money from the event was going to the Down Syndrome Guild it would be the perfect time to go. Our rigs even made it into a couple pictures on their site! There were only 4 Toyotas present for the event, 2 FJ Cruisers, my 3rd gen T4R, and my friends 2nd gen T4R. We had a blast and a lot of money was raised.
