What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed the crank and rods. Buttoning up the rest of the block tomorrow before cleaning off the bench and putting the heads back together.

Finally got around to replacing the rusted out fuel tank strap. Now i just gotta remove the rest of the fuel tank skidplate without snapping ALL of the bolts. Lol.

Ugh... Rust.

First trip out with the new toy. Really need to plumb my transmission cooler back in to the radiator at this point or I'm gonna cook it.

Also sad when you're in 2nd gear towing just 1,500 lbs and are losing speed at 30mph. Wish I had a stock 4runner to take up the same hill with the same load for comparison.. I don't know if mine is just running poorly or what the deal is- but it just doesn't seem quite right.

And uhh.. some sort of wider mud flaps would help :lmao:

Ground deploy 100w saving the day because I parked in a stupid spot for roof top panels to work

Pulls straight and doesn't boss the 4runner around in the wind or anything.

My pup is about the same weight and I can go about 45-50 up a 6 percent grade if that comparison helps.

Hah yeah that definitely helps, I'd have to hit the hill at 80 to maintain 45-50. Never have any check engine lights, new plugs and wires, clean air filter, new oil change, tires at 35psi.. Not even sure where to begin.

Gave her a full detail after going through some heavy clay forest roads. She probably lost about 25-30 pounds in mud. Did the exterior, interior, and door jams.
Also discovered that the rear driver side door is not original to the truck....

module craps out and takes out trac and abs. brake light comes on as well as causing trouble code P0500, speed sensor, which takes out speedo.

master started leaking a little. excellent shape otherwise, electronically and mechanically. i may sell it or get the overhaul kit for it and O ring it.

I almost brought out the SKS to shoot my black 98 to minuscule pieces of f'in dust but cooler heads prevailed by the end of the day. And while I'll have to clean the garage and look for some tools that were thrown in rage, I can finally relax and be done with body work and finally move on to do cooler and much much easier mods to it. I will never ever buy another vehicle that has hit a barrier or been wrecked in some way after dealing with this rusty POS 4Runner.

what do you mean by this statement? how is it plumbed now?

also did you re gear after you went up in tire size? that could be it as well.
when i went to a 33" my 4runner feels like a fat pig now. i cant wait to regear
