What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Noticed that my battery to body ground wire was on it's last threads. 1/3 of the big 3 upgrade done.

Corrected some of the ECU MAP 3 wiring, now I need to mount the piggy back and run the MAP vacuum line to the intake, hoping this fixes the lack of idling issue. Starts up, rev's nicely, drives fine, but no idle.

Scheduled an appointment w/ the exhaust shop to weld in the AFR bung for next Wed.

Accidentally ordered some parts that I didn't need, returned them for credit so I can order the AEM fuel pressure gauge, URD fuel rail tap.

Picked up a used dual amsoil remote filter set up. Need to look into the taps that are on it, need to see if I can connect the oil pressure gauge up to it.

Nice video. I don't think your truck has a clear coat though. If I recall correctly, any 3rd gen that has white — uses the same Natural White color (code 056), which is a single stage paint. White Runners get dingy and stain easily, but shine up real nice with clay-baring and compounding because of it.

i had noticed that my intake temps are really high. like would get to the 150 mark. of course where i live it gets to about 115 during the summer. but even as its cooling if its 80 degrees out my temps would get to 140s so i figure its heat soak. so im cracking my hood up to see if it makes a differeance letting the hot air out. i figure its cheap and reversable and if it makes a difference ill invest in actual hood louvers and cut the hood.

I thought your 4Runner looked familiar. Then I looked at your location and I realized I drive by your rig every day on my way to my in laws house.

Thanks. My wife's family lives down the block on Vine. We live over by De Anza elementary.

It won't be blue for long. I'm going to have it painted back to evergreen pearl. I just need to find the time to take it to Mexicali where a paint job is way cheaper!

Three days ago I was lowering the Runner down from one of those car lift parking spots, and I stopped it about half way just to have alil look underneath it and check it all out. Well everything was looking good till I looked at the driver's side rear wheel and noticed it was covered in dirt and oil![emoji58] So the next day I took off the wheel and drum to investigate and low and behold blown axle seal[emoji19] I immediately started stressing because with school and work I have no free time to tackle this job myself. So I bit the bullet and ended up taking her down to a family members shop to get a quote. They ended up quoting me such a good price I left it there that day, and now I'm just waiting for a new rear diff fill plug so I can go pick her back up!

Changed my oil, filter & tightened up my oil pan bolts. It was looking wet in some areas. Every one took a full turn. Thank god for swivel extensions for the ones above the diff.

Started decoding all the aftermarket radio wiring I've got laying around. Someone had this thing wired for some serious sound.

Swapped out my stock rear springs and 2.5" spacers (yeah, yikes) that have been sagging for a while for some OME 891s and Bilstein 5125 shocks. Definitely a much better ride now, and excited to not be sagging all the time and to be able to haul my CRF450 on a hitch hauler without it nearly being bottomed out.

Rides SOOOO much better now. No more bottoming out over speed bumps, and rides with much more stability now. The shocks were obviously toast.

Looks cool but but seems like way more work to have to climb up two trees to hang the tow strap and rig all that other shiz up — just for a dresser.

Then again everything seems like a lot of work cause I'm a lazy pothead and I would have just paid the village idiot (my neighbor) to come do it.

I if I had to though — I bet I could probably manage getting up into the first tree alright, but I'd probably be way too stoned to get back down.

Haha - I'm the only person around most days so have to learn to do a lot of chores solo and the winch comes in real handy for that. Just had to climb one side though - I throw the end through the "Y" on the right first, clip it and just slide it tight then stand on the railing on the left and wrap it around and hook it to itself - I got it down to 5 minutes and haven't lost a piece of furniture yet.
