Finally put my cb radio in. Cheap wal mart one but its basically only for the trail. It'll be fine

I just found that same CB new in the box at a yard sale for $5. Nice to see that it fits into the ashtray area where I plan to put it.

dang, i got it from wal mart for $35 i think. it fits great. have to cut out the plastic in back and take off the boot for the antenna. a friend put cloth tape so it was flexible and went into a 90. the antenna is still presseed up against the hvac but not much. my first cb and im trying to get the hang of it.

Cool thanks for the heads-up on that. I'm not a cb guy myself despite having driven a truck for 10 years. Even back then I mostly kept it turned off and when it was on, I kept the squelch up high so people had to be close in order to hear them.
I wasn't even going to put one in my 4Runner, but the price was right for a new radio, and on occasion they do come in handy, especially on the highways when there is an accident or lane closure ahead, as you can usually ask the nearest semi what lane is shut down or whatever is going on up there.
I'd like to get my HAM license eventually and mount a good HAM radio in the truck. One of these days....

For your cb mic what I did I warped around my 4wheel drive shifter ...just something I do

I mounted my mic to the passenger side of the HVAC controls and it has worked well for me. Within reach when I need it and out of the way when I don't.

I hope to have one on a trailer someday but I would love to have one where the spare tire goes. Just this week I could've used extra fuel.

Hey, thanks for the knowledge! I still have to jailbreak the deck. Bypass is ordered. Without it, the thing is basically useless while driving.
How sick is that equalizer? This is my first big kid stereo, still trying to get best sound, I used the vocal eq setting as a base and tried to tweak and peak the highs and mids in custom mode. The 12" sub takes care of the rest.
I can't believe I went so long on the factory deck and amp. There is no comparison between the two sounds.
I mounted it using the self tapping screws that came with it.
