Installed my Ultragauge today. There are so many parameters to choose from. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that there is no oil temp or oil pressure parameter. It does everything else, but thatout:

I've been on that trail many times and I must say it can get a little hairy about midway. Though sometimes its pretty slick in that section too and things can get real tight, so it's good to stop there and have something to eat first because this section can leave you breathless and spent. From there it's all uphill across the washboard flats untill you level out in the valley between Twin Peaks. The view from up top is quite stunning really.

Fun ride — never tire of it.

Replaced upper and lower BJ's, Inner and outer Tie Rods, and replaced/adjusted the steering rack guide.

Man does it ride nice now and boy does it suck doing all that in freezing weather.

I'm guessing this is probably why mine rides awfully bumpy. At 60mph+ it's like riding in a train cart or something. I have noticed too whenever I do quick back and forth exchanges with the steering wheel there is a lot of play and it takes a far turn to actually engage turning the wheels. How hard was this job to do? I just did valve cover gaskets and tune up the other day which isn't anything crazy but I'm a little mechanically inclined.

Just got a call from Relentless. My bumper is done. I'll be picking it up sometime this coming week. Pretty stoked.

I decided to not have turn signals cut in to the bumper. My plan was to add some led light bars under the headlights where the filler panel is then wire them to the drl and turn circuits. So my question to anyone who's done the same is what brand did you go with and how was the fit?

You could do what I did on my build thread. Installed round led blinkers my self in the filler panel under the headlight.

Just took a look in your thread. I like it. Plus it uses the factory filler panel so there will be easy less modification to make it fit. I'll be using some of that idea for sure. I might look into strips instead of round LEDs. A top drl stop in white and a bottom turn strip in yellow. I'll be home from Cochise tomorrow so I'll hit the internet then. Solid idea none the less. Thanks

last weekend i broke the grill on my snorkel, looked online for a replacement, found a solid one from Sierra Expeditions, this one should not break as it's 14 gauge steel and the older one is ABS plastic.

Got my first package of OEM parts. This one had inner and outer tie rods along with new boots. Shipped from United Emirates and only took ~3 weeks (ordered Feb 20th). Everything looks OEM, the site I ordered from is highly recommended and easy to deal with. Still waiting on OEM LBJs from Japan and then I have a full day under the car.

What does everyone think?

I ordered inner tie rods from them cuz no one came close to the price in the states but the BJ's and outers I got on Amazon cuz they were pretty cheap.

I just swapped all that new stuff in the past two days. I was surprised how easy it was to do even with 154k miles of rust-belt driving.

It's a funny thing that us Canadians are trying to order from the US because your prices are much cheaper than ours and you guys are ordering from over seas to get cheaper prices. Anything to save a buck!

My truck drove fine for the most part but I did start noticing it acting like there was high winds on the highway. It would also rattle and wobble over bumps in the road and felt like I had bumpsteer.

You can test your rack guide if you suspect it by jacking up one side and pushing the back of the tire inwards. Watch the inner tie rod boot and see if it moves up as you push the tire in. Any play is bad. Mine moved up and down about 1/4". It was in bad shape but all my other parts were fine. I replaced em anyways as preventive maintenance and to keep my new tires from abnormal wear.

The lower ball joints and inner/outer tie rods were a breeze to replace. The upper ball joint was a bit more time consuming, especially the first one you do cuz you have no idea what to do unless you study the write-ups on here (which i did but still...). One thing I noticed was they said to tie the knuckle so it doesn't fall out too far and pull out the cv axle but I HAD TO pull it all the way out just to fit a ball joint press on it and then rotate the wheel while pushing it in to engage the cv again. You gotta cut the stud off the upper BJ so make sure you have something to cut it with (cut off wheel works best). First upper BJ took me 4 hours and then the other side about 40 minutes.

Put a Kenwood receiver in and got the broken factory unit out. Taught my daughter how to swap a stereo. Found 6 qts of MaxLife ATF for < $3ea. Received tomorrow's project from Amazon: replacing the missing parking brake bellcrank and broken cable.

I'm in Kenai Alaska. I get parts cheaper and faster from Toyota of Dallas then I do from Anchorage. I've tried giving Anchorage several chances and each time was unsatisfied with cost or attitude.

Not sure about Fairbanks though.
