Tore down the interior to pressure wash the carpet and vacuum/wipe down all the nastiness under the carpet. If it doesn't clean up well enough, might just buy a replacement.

Because some fabricators care more about strength and winching than ease of install. My AOR bumper mounts like this and i would be worried if it was just bolted too brackets. His weld/bolt on cross member wraps entire front of frame strengthening the winch point.

On a related note, I am curious about how aftermarket bumpers absorb minor bumps without bending the frame. The stock bumpers have some kind of crumple brackets that will bend before the frame does but an aftermarket bumper doesn't from what I've seen. Then if you hit anything or someone hits you at low to medium speed, there is no give to it and all is transferred straight to the frame. Is there some kind of extra crumple brackets you could put on? They would stick out more though.

ARB has a crumple area on the bumper bracket, but it does stick out more

If I had mine torn down like that. I would spray some lizard skin or some kind of sound deadening.

Yup. All 2 of the 4 that I ordered. Fan-effin-tastic I said. Took off from work, hustled to pick them up and had an appointment to get em thrown on. Looks like the other 2 should be here Tuesday... They should have made that left turn at Albuquerque...

Just spent an hour installing my 4" Nilight LEDs on my bumper. AN HOUR. Ever look at something and think "This should take about 10 minutes". I did and I was way way wrong. I'm not talking wiring them up here. Just mounting them to the damn bumper brackets.

Anyway, there in and the bumpers going on for a test fit once I rig it to hang from my garage rafter. That's something that actually will only take ten minutes. Talk to you in an hour. lol

And painted the front bumper I have been working on

1 coat of base

2 coats of RM Diamont base
3 coats RM Diamont RMC5000 clear

So how do you install a 150lb bumper by yourself? Three to one pulley systems. If they're any climbers here they'll appreciate the simplicity of that set up. One year I'll put all this crap in a build thread.

Thundercloud Metallic split 5-spokes

painted these yesterday. Automotive stripper down to the alloy then 3 coats primer, 2 coats base, 2 coats clear. Few small runs in the clear. Not bad for my first set of wheels with a harbor freight setup. New tires coming Monday. 285x70x17 Toyo Open Country... thinking i shoulda gone with 305's but we will see, i want the edge of the tread even with my flares and i also have 1.25 spacers if i need to use em...
