Pulled the front coils apart, added the optional spacer to the lift coils and Then took a BFH to the wheel well weld seam. Washed it after :target:

Installed subwoofer...pulled headliner...dropped sunroof and replaced with new to me assembly.
Ugh. Long day. But super happy. Everything is working great.

We are traveling the US and racked up more than 17,000 miles in the last two months, so it was time for a bit of work! Luckily we had a few days back 'home' before heading off again. It was a good couple of days - I gave the buggy and grimy AC condenser a good cleaning with coil cleaner, 'flushed' the transmission fluid (one quart at a time out of the radiator tube, added back through dipstick), flushed the power steering fluid, added a Hayden 678 transmission cooler in series with the radiator transmission cooler, swapped out my steering rack bushings for Energy Suspension poly bushings (from Wheeler's Offroad), put on new 555 ITREs and OTREs (from Low Range Offroad), and got it aligned at Firestone! Whew, feels good and drives better than ever.

The cables and guides were rusted. PO was an idiot. Had a wind deflector up there that I don't think was installed correctly and water seeped down. Motor still worked but was unable to move glass.
Found a complete assembly for $100 from 4runner with 72k. Barely used sunroof. Haven't had a working roof since I got the truck over a year ago. Very glad to have it back. And the work wasn't that tough just need to make sure to keep a track of the screws you pull.

Nice! Not having it fall on your head is amazing. This was one of the first things I replaced on mine. After 4 years or so they're still going strong. They've got a lifetime warranty too so that's nice. I just warrantied the ones for the hood on my Supra. Easy swap and they work like new again. The only thing with the ones on my 4Runner are with the ladder and cold conditions it doesn't go all the way up. It stops right around my head height. I've been thinking about trying to find some slightly stronger ones, but I'm not sure if it's worth it since they work fine in the summer.
Did you have to do any shimming or anything to the brackets on the hatch? Mine were wallowed out from the old struts so I've got some combination of plastic bushings and washers in there to keep them from squeaking metal on metal.
Also nice garden soil mod! How many HP did you gain?!

No. They are exactly like the factory. Just re-use the factory hardware.

Both sides were OK. The drivers side was a bit worn but stll no problem. I was getting tired of hitting my head back there, especially on cold mornings.
Let's see, ten bags of 1.5L Garden Soil nets a gain of at least 50HP. You know its true because it's on the web. Actually I'm hoping it nets me a little something more later on from my wife. :dance:
