Seriously, there is a whole thread on cut open stock vs. aftermarket LBJ's. There is a huge difference in the quality of the OEMs vs any of the aftermarket parts.

My originals with 270k on them still were pretty good. Many on here have had aftermarket go bad in 15k miles or less. It is actually CHEAPER to run OEM in this case.

I had duralast gold LBJ. Lasted about 30-40k before they were making A LOT OF NOISE and one had A LOT OF PLAY. Thank god it did not break on me. But made me switch over to OEM right away.

Passenger mirror decided to "shuffle off this mortal coil...".
So after asking around, it turns out the local hardware store has a dedicated section for cutting mirrors and glass.
This may not seem all that great to you, but here its quite surprising.
Made my day much easier.
$5.00 and some outdoor double sided tape and I'm back in business.

Conicelli Wins

you searched for lbj failure, but not aftermarket lbj failure.

What is the failure rate of those specifically not including the normal recall failure.

oem lbj are 103 from camelbak

Just purchased from Conicelli for $94.95 a piece. Was going to use Amayama but by the time shipping is included the difference was negligible. They've also got OTRE's for $50 bucks a piece while you're in there.

Full time 12V Power Mod

I've been considering doing a full time 12V power mod to all of my power points but it wasn't until this recent trip that it became higher on my "to-do" list. I mentioned it in my build and [MENTION=91393]papabeach[/MENTION] recommended a link for me to JA's Toyota Highlander site which BTW I have had as a favorite for quite some time.

Can you provide more information on the swing down table, like how it attaches at the hinge, how it is supported when down, how it is locked in the upright position, etc.?

I'd like to add one to my swing out but yours is the first one I've seen that has a similar construction to my swing arm.

What did you do to your 3rd gen today?

Stretched out my new shoes. Really like how the 34x10.50's tuck into the fender wells. Very little rubbing even with spacers.

Started fitting the cb and running wires but ran out of time.

Also built a shelf for auxiliary power
