The gauge shows 'normal' temp from around 150*F to at least 215*F. You may have a stuck open thermostat? Or, you may have a Limited model with not-quite-working temp control?

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping that it's stuck open, and not removed to hide any other issues, as that has been the case with a few things on this truck so far. It's a SR5. I just replaced the heater control valve last week and got the cable to operate freely, so there's some hot water flowing through the heater core.
I've read a lot of threads about the temperature gauge not working properly and people's concerns. I've been browsing for days for a digital/analgo temperature gauage. I've already read where I want to tie it into, but just can't find one i'm happy with. I also was trying to find one less than 2" in diameter. Think I'll keep looking and install it inline with the other item. Anyone else running something different than the standard temp gauge?

I actually grew up in Mexico and never went to school
So everything I know is self taught
Maybe take your own advice

And I too help my friends and fam all the time. And have done more than one free lift kit install for fellow members, I have them watch and help so they learn and understand what it is I am doing and why.
And yes I do have my dual citizenship

Drove her around after my lift! Couldn’t be happier with it even with a little rake. Rides firm but not jarring. Now I’ll be saving for some armor!

That rake will help offset the weight of a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier so you're good!

Changed out T-stat with a OE one. The one I pulled out looked fairly new, but it definitely was not a Toyota part, the springs were half of the size of the new one. Got it all put back together and didn't have any leaks. As I tried to squeeze the hoses to help 'burp' the system, I'm not 100% sure it's clear of air pockets. The lower hose was very cool to the touch even after idling for 20 minutes.
I got more heat out of the vents, so I drove it home and rechecked the hoses. The lower one felt warmer than before but the upper was still much warmer. They both felt like there were puffed up a bit from pressure. Hell if I know, I'll recheck in the AM.

Ray10's are sweet looking for sure. Are those simulated beadlock bolts metal or plastic? I got some MB Motoring 352's that I really like. Only downside, those cool looking bolt heads are plastic. When you wheel plastic doesn't really stay put for very long. lol

Congrats on the new wheels! Those Ray 10s are SHARP looking wheels. I have plans to swap my Pro Comps out. I had been seriously looking at this very wheel as well as the F5s. I think I will probably end up with the F5s, I have always loved that design, but I would be super happy to run either or. Nice choice in finish too. I am about 80% set on gunmetal as well.
I know others have removed and then painted their lock bolts. Someone on here polished their SR8 lip. I spent a good chunk of research time trying to find out what all he did to make that happen. So.. That's an option too I suppose.
Need some more pics though. Whole rig and close ups would be awesome. :madgrin:

The bolts are real and actually removable, thank goodness. I'm still on the fence about painting them black. I'm going to leave it alone for a bit to see if it grows on me.
Thanks Bull. I had the F5s but I went with the wrong color the first time. A member here already bought mine. I should have listened to my instincts the first time and went with the gunmetal. The F5s are simple, beautiful, clean and also the lightest wheel in SCS' lineup.
It doesn't help that i'm local to SCS and stop by to pick up wheels during lunch.

It was pretty rough out here
I’m in Napa and the smoke cleared up today but yesterday was rough and who knows how tomorrow will be
A lot of multi million dollar homes burned to the ground out here wineries also.
Literally didn’t see the sun for 3 straight days the smoke was so thick.
