If you like the ride then don't change it. Sounds like you have plans for a rear bumper at some point and that will take care of the rake. When you put the front on you'll gain a little more rake with the weight. Consider going to the 3rd perch after the bumper goes on. You'll pre-load a little more but the weight of the bumper should compensate for that. I ended up doing exactly that when I put my front bumper on. It rode really good on the 1st perch without the bumper but now it rides prefect on the second with the bumper. It's like my front end is glued to the road at speed on washboards.

It's interesting that so many Jeep's have inexpensive mods, huge selection of mods versus 4Runner and I wish we had those options sometimes. But in all my outings I rarely ever seen a Jeep on the trails over 100K miles, 150K miles I've seen 2 and over 200K miles seen a few that ended up blowing up on the trails. This was back when I actually wheeled hard before my injuries

My old mail carrier used a Jeep 2dr 4wd with the old 4.0 in it, before the cracked head. The biggest PITA for her besides tires was the yearly replacement of the clockspring, thanks to Dorman crap. I think it had about 400k on it.

Finally found a Limited MM 4wd tranny for $500. Mine presently may/may not make it to Xmas. It looked clean. Fluid though was a little dirty.

FINALLY!!! got my lift on after weeks of trying to decide what to get. I ended doing the Toytec/Eibach 112620 coils for the front and LC 8 wraps in the rear with 5100's all around. The rake was ridiculous when I first got the car off the lift. I was actually so bummed on how much rake there was. I wish I snapped a photo of it. This made me not want to mount my arb front bumper just yet. Anyways, heres how it looks: I have my stock rims and tires(4) in the trunk and my tool box in the trunk to weigh the rear down a little to even out the rake. Hopefully she settles down a bit after a few weeks... Btw I'm on the 2nd perch up front.

Looks great! I just saw your rig at the Costco pumps in Seattle. I will have some LC 7 wraps for sale pretty soon if you decide you want to drop it down a bit in the rear. But I think it looks solid.

I was excited at first as the amount of attention my runner has been wanting is wearing me out, I was glad to let it be someone elses problem to deal with but now after a day to think it over, I'm sorta of thinking about telling the guy that I've changed my mind and refunding his deposit.

I won't ever sell mine. It'll be destoryed or go to my son. Even if i lose the abilty to drive, which is likely to happen, i'll convert it (if they don't take my license..) and let it sit for 8 more years for my son. If he doesn't want it, i'll give it to him for his 16th b-day as a sell do what you want gift.

But yeah, I know different models have different options. But for a wrangler, the amount of lift options is staggering versus a 4Runner.

May I ask what you're going after now? I want to live vicariously through you..

What's going down with your trans?

Not 100% sure. Shits fine, albeit a little harsh at times. Will have a serve thud from time to time when going into OD up an incline, or when the 4runner gets up over it. Gut feeling says TC, and the last time the pan was dropped nothing major showed up on the magnets.

The previous owners towed a 21ft boat without taking it out of OD ever so who knows what kind of damage was slowly done, even though it was only for seven years.

Finally replaced the worn out suspension.

Front: Bilstein 6112 (clip 8)
Rear: OME 890 with Bilstein 24-249966

Also replaced the both sway bar bushings and links (front for both front and rear). Very happy with how it came out and it ride a lot better. Still have the load E tires though which makes small bumps rough.

Your paint and limited trim just look perfect man. Well done.

Replaced a broken front wheel stud, and noticed it's about time to replace UCA's, LBJ's, and CV boots. Just trying to hold out till Christmas.

I've got a set of rock sliders sitting around for an old trooper I cut off.. All tube. Need to weld a flat plate on them to mount to the frame. 3/16 plate steel should be thick enough yeah? Will be welded on all sides, 3 bases on each side, 2"x3" plates.

Saturday attempted to install Aussie Locker, did not get correct clearance using stock thrust washers, aborted and reinstalled everything back to stock :shrug:

EDIT: Just ordered a set of 0.030 thrust washers, $26 shipped. And now we wait...
