Didn't do anything to 4runner. However I ordered some new parts. So, I ordered OEM air filter, pcv valve+grommet. And a passenger side LBJ from LowRangeOffRoad. "As a spare one" incase something was to happen on a trail. Just bring me home. I already have a spare OEM driver side one.

Dropped my spare for the first time since owning the 4runner, that was a surprise, it's a full size 265/70! Washed it, checked pressure and put it back.
Did my full synthetic oil change with WIX 51348XP synthetic filter using High Mileage formulation oil. Also installed a magnetic drain plug, with new 90430-12031 genuine Toyota crush washer, to replace the rare earth magnet I had attached to my previous drain plug - never caught anything on it tho.
FWIW - Amazon sells all formulations of Mobil 1 for around $22 per 5 QT with free Prime shipping - price subject to change, obviously
Oh yeah, installed my candy apple red calipers up front and bled the snot out of em.

Notice that one stud with the shiny ring around it at one o'clock? I had to file the threads to get a lug nut on it so I'll be replacing that one soon.

Yesterday I replaced my front passenger headlight assembly, which was cracked, with a used one in excellent shape I bought a while back from a member of the forum. Also changed the clips that mounts the grille in place, as long as I was there.
On Friday I'm having the heated seats function added to the driver and passenger seats, through my local VW dealership and their third party partner.

I have seen even cheaper prices on Mobil on Amazon. It seems like it is early in the morning or late at night.
Something is missing through that knuckle, CV shaft? :bigok:

Nice job with the paint. I'm assuming you painted them off the car then installed them? Which paint/products did you use? I don't remember if I commented before but the paint job on your wheels turned out really well too. Every time I think I've gotten better at painting & learned from my previous mistakes, I do something to slightly screw it up

I got these calipers off a forum member that did the TBU so I had the luxury of time. I drained them, cleaned them, plugged them and taped off the mounting holes, boots and pistons, then cleaned them again with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I sprayed them in two stages using Dupli-Color BCP100 Red Brake Caliper Aerosol. This is a no-bake formulation vs. others which require baking.
Stage one was several coats for full but basic coverage, no wet coat, and I still got a few runs. After a week I sanded and cleaned and sprayed them again, this time going for the candy-dipped finish on the visible areas. Between both stages I used a full can for both calipers.
I again waited a week and then removed all the tape, installed the pad, pins and springs and carefully connected the lines trying really hard not to drip brake fluid on them. Just to be safe, I washed them with soap and water then mounted them, torqued them to 91 pounds feet and bled them.
The wheels were done much quicker. I scuffed, washed, degreased, washed, and painted in one day with Duplicolor HWP102 High Performance Graphite Wheel Coating. I did not use a primer but almost wish I did - I already found a small chip :faceplam:
After painting them the car sat at the body shop for 2 weeks, which gave the paint time to cure. While the car was there I took my time on the center caps and shot them with the same paint. Between the wheels and center caps I used just over 2 cans.
My plan is to maybe reshoot the wheels with the remaining 7/8ths can of paint then clear the wheels and caps, but it's getting cold here now so that may have to wait for the spring. Time will tell how well they hold up as is. They look good from far, but they are far from good and I have yet to let a tire shop handle them :mad2:

You did a great job with the painting. If I didn't tow with my 4runner back in the day I probably would have never done the TBU upgrade.
It is just rather rare to see a knuckle here on the forum without a CV shaft poking through it. Clean, California SUV.....

Picked up these 2016 alloys. Guy had them on for a week, then stored them in his garage for a year, got all 4 with lug nuts for $280. I had a momentary panic when I first saw them thinking, those look way bigger than 17"...they measure 18.5" across the face...but my 16" rims measure 17" across the face, so I think (unless one of you guys tell me I am an idiot) that these are 17" rims that will be getting snow tires soon.

put in a new rear center brake line today. Didn't get an extended aftermarket one. I ended up using a brake line off a 2nd gen 4runner with was a couple inches longer. not as long as an aftermarket one but definitely enough slack for my lift even at flex. heres a little flex action with both sway bars still on

$500 for both seats, with a warranty. They just did it on my wife's Tiguan (paid by the dealer, part of the deal when we bought it) and man, they did an excellent job. The switches are higher quality than OEM Volkswagen ones. And it works like a charm.

NICE Christian!! That rig looks super clean. I briefly saw your rig the other day as I was pulling out from the pumps at Costco. I really like the way those wheels look on your black 4runner. Very sharp! Looking forward to seeing some more pics for sure.
It's just not fair for a 4runner to look like that, man, shit.
WTH are those wheels? And did you just wax/polish/ceramic coat that paint or what? :jaw::jaw:
