Also spent part of the day cleaning the dirt/grease/grime from all the door openings and door edges, as well as the tailgate area. The build up of grime and dirt really looks bad on a white vehicle, so it took half a jar of rubbing compound and lots of elbow grease to clean up. My fingertips are still sore, but it looks really nice.

Drove 950 miles without a blip this weekend only to have my truck stall in gear at a traffic light again this morning. Ugh

Took one turn off TV cable at the TB to see if that is affecting it - I had tightened the TV cable (to remove slack by 2 turns) a few weeks ago, stalling only occurred after that

continued working on removing the tape residue from the old rain guards and sunroof wind deflector. WD40 worked wonders for the last bit.

So it didn't affect the clearcoat? I used some methanol and found that it was taking off the clear coat if you rub it long enough!!!

KYB front struts closeout at rockauto.com

Ok...so my recent 2002 4runner with 230k miles front struts are shot...looking around and I found a deal on KYB struts at rockauto.com... got it for $35 vs regular price of $58.... so I ordered 2 and 2 kyb back shocks too...

meanwhile....maybe doing my front end ball joints and lower control arm and upper arm, stablizer link and whatever maybe be worn out...anything else in suspension to look out for....its a 2wd drive...

I thought I would pass this deal along...here is links..

Crappy night picture, but I mounted my Power GS Clamp Mounts and PIAA LP550s. I still have to do the wiring in the cold unfortunately.

Nice man. Looks good. I also do that once in a while. I did right away when I got my truck lol. But when you off road. it's almost impossible to keep cleaning those areas

I'm not sure this counts as me "doing" anything to the 4Runner today, since it was nothing more than unpacking an Amazon package, but nonetheless, I installed the Weathertech front liners today.

No offense to those who went with Husky, but I like the look, fit, and feel of the Weathertech better.

Yup, that thought certainly crossed my mind . I'm hoping that if I put enough wax on it (after my fingertips recover), it'll be easier to clean next time!

Installed front and rear CBI bumpers for a friend.

Nice bumpers.... I'm wishing that i would have gotten a smooth finish instead of the textured coating i got... the installer did a crappy job...

Put in my new VLED side marker 194 LED. I love the darker amber look vs what was in there and these are much brighter. My goal pretty soon is to have these be my DRL lights, only problem is my 96 doesn't come with DRL, so it's gonna be a fun electrical project.

Finally solved my headroom problem Got this pair of mid-80s Recaro LS recovered in German vinyl. For reference, these mounted on a pair of Wedge Engineering brackets has gained me ~ 2" of headroom.

Put in my new VLED side marker 194 LED. I love the darker amber look vs what was in there and these are much brighter. My goal pretty soon is to have these be my DRL lights, only problem is my 96 doesn't come with DRL, so it's gonna be a fun electrical project.

Why not just drive with your marker switch on? That way you re rear markers are lit too, and they all go off with the key off - no wiring project required.

Because I only want my front markers to be on, not the rear as well. Also I have a 96 so I don’t have the auto shutoff feature like the 99+ has.

Gotcha, should be an easy project.

The toughest part will be running an add-a-fuse through the firewall into the fusebox in the cab out to a relay that you splice into the side markers + wire so they go off with ignition off.

Check with your local motor vehicle ordinances to make sure you can run front markers without rears, so you don't get a ticket for having a tail light or two out.

ps, why wouldn't you want the rear markers on? Being visible to other cars from all angles isn't a bad thing in my experience.

That looks good. Which high visibility bulb did you get? There are 3 types, $6, $14 or $18 bulb?
