looked under the truck, and realized that pushing 250k miles, and my CV boots, UCAs, LBJs, all need to be replaced

I ordered mine from AutoAnything & I called...
The sales rep told me those NEVER get discounted below the $866 but they would price match..
Well, everyone sells it for $866 so price matching was out of the question...
I chatted with the guy for a while & I ended up getting it for $86 off...
The unfortunate part was it won't ship until December.. I ordered it November 7th.. so be prepared to wait for you order for about a month if these companies get it from the same supplier

Finally diagnosed the chassis vibration I’ve been dealing with as worn u-joints, the dealer didn’t have any in stock so I added grease and the vibration is now gone! Excited to change em out next week once the new ones come in.

****, I wish I had seen your post earlier, I would have saved you a few bucks! I just ordered the same bumper from StreetSideAuto, paid $816. Was $866 with no tax and free shipping but there was a $50 off coupon.
Did you also ordered the ARB turn signals? I need to get them.
Also, do you know how you're gonna mount the bumper - bolted, welded, or by doing the end cap mod (or whatever it's called)?

The 3423020 bumper comes with turn signals, as far as my research has yielded, but I will have to add fog lights as my factory fogs will go with the stock bumper.
I'm looking at a set of flush mount LED fogs like this
All of the ones I am finding are 6000K and I really want 4300-4500K for fogs.
Another thing I want to get are shackles I think red would look nice
At the same time I might as well pick up some shackle isolators to keep the scratching and clanking to a minimum
As far as install goes, minimal modification is required. The end caps on the frame where the crush bar mounts needs to come off and a 1/2" hole needs to be drilled that aligns with an existing hole in the frame for a long through bolt. Aside from that, the bumper should be a painless install if all goes well and there's no issues with fit. Some folks have had to do some grinding but overall it should be a straight forward install. I hope :wow:
Down the road, when I add a winch, I'll throw some welds on there in addition to the bolts. That's no big deal for me. I'd rather let the bumper settle before I weld it, or weld it under the load of the winch pulling the vehicle so the welds aren't stressed under load. That's down the line a bit for me though. I have to see if the Warn winch I have in storage still works Lol

Thank you for the explanation regarding the installation of the bumper, I think I'll also go with bolting it for now, and welding later. You make a really good point about welding it after we drop in a winch!
I read that it comes without turn signals, I guess we will see it soon enough. Also, we will need to add some silicone to make the turn signals fully waterproof, that's a common issue with these. No big deal, but easy to forget about it haha!
I looked at the OEM signals for an old VW Jetta, they're exactly the same as the ARB ones except that they are either white or black lenses. A cool way to modernize the bumper for $20. Just type:
VW GOLF JETTA MK1 MK2 EURO-SPEC SMALL BUMPER LED TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS - BLACK
Nice fog lights, but that will require some modification of the bumper. I'm probably gonna skip it. You might want to look at Rigid Industries fog lights btw. Still some good deals out there.

Yesterday I installed new Camburg UCAs and got the tires rotated. The stock UCAs had 273k miles on the bushings and it drove like it. The new bushings and UCAs ride great. Now I need to swap out the LCA bushings soon. I also looking for options to upgrade the rear axle links.
But for now I will enjoy what I can.

The installation instructions refer to "indicators" and a wiring harness connection to the stock connectors. See page 7:

As far as modifying/cutting the bumper to add fogs, no problem - I'd rather they be flush - one less thing to tear off or come loose.

Had a looksee underneath because I’m neurotic like that.. found my inner boot torn at the clamp... so I zip tied and taped it so it won’t fling grease until I get a new one. Yay..

Last night on "Deferred Toyota Maintenance Theatre":
Valve Cover Gaskets!
I started around 8:00 last night, and finished up around 3:00am. I took my time and laughed my ass off at the guys who say "I can bang them out in about an hour". Maybe you're a flat-rate machine but this is my truck and I'm taking my time.
Lessons learned:
- The drivers side still sucks. You will break everything.
- My cover bolts were hand tight on the bottom but I was already in so I figured why the heck not.
- Don't forget to connect your vacuum hose from the PCV to throttle body!
I discovered that both the PCV valve and wires were original (wires were stamped 1999) which was both impressive and slightly scary.
The PO had replaced plugs but had gone with NGK G-Powers for some reason.
Next up: Fuel Filter and (other) axle seal! After that I'm pretty much caught up other than a need to diagnose an intermittent belt squeal (AC or Alt) and why my aux power relay is always engaged..

I'm gonna guess cause it's wired to a constant hot. Mines wired to a switched add a fuse. It shuts off when the keys turned to off.

Well it's on an add a fuse under the rear heater power. I didn't think it was constant hot but it could be. Is the entire fuse panel underhood controlled by a switched relay on ignition?

I'm not sure about the dash fusebox being switched. I'm pretty sure some are constant but I'm a volt meter and test what I need guy. [MENTION=10169]TheDurk[/MENTION] would be the one to ask.
I tapped my 10A turn signal fuse with an add a fuse. That circuit is switched. Plus there's not a lot of draw on it.

Most every fuse in the cab is switched hot while all the fuses in the engine bay are full-time hot.
All of the empty fuse bays in the cab are switched and that's what I've been using for add ons rather than splicing in.

New castings, original valves, camshafts etc. OEM gaskets, head bolts, radiator, hoses, belts, timing belt, injectors cleaned. Lots of fun.
