Drove it, drained 4 quarts of old ATF. Red, but burned looking. Filled with Castrol Import ATF. Trying to get another three months or longer out of the torque converter.

Gotcha, this was exactly what I was thinking of doing to mine as well. Don't want to take it to the shop. So ****ing expensive, the amount they charge. Good to know it will come out well.

I adjusted the tension on all of my drive belts! When your 3 year old tells you "The silver truck is making a terrible noise" I guess it's time to take care of business.
Motto of the night? Adjusting the P/S pump belt tension: "You can't get there from here!" ...well, you can, but you gotta remove the airbox if you're going to have a hope in Hell.
Oddly I don't remember cursing it when I did the timing belt in February.

Hit the junkyard and got an '02 dash bezel to upgrade my current one. Interesting factoid - the wood on these bezels is real, not fake. Who knew!:

Pretty sure the bezels with the real wood overlays we're dealer options and not factory...I think.

Ah, interesting. Too bad the plastic coating over the wood is discolored and peeling, I would have kept it on otherwise to match the rest of my '97 Limited. As it is, the wood is off, and I plan to paint it with some SEM Silver. Didn't you paint your console trim with satin black? I might do the same for mine.

I need to do this too. Previous owner had a Flowmaster installed and I find it annoying as fugg except when someone is irritating me – then I use the loud exhaust as a "weapon of annoyance" as well as a warning to others of a potential ass-whooping ahead if they don't stop doing whatever dumb shit they are doing to get on my radar.
I hate that I can't sneak up on anyone with my Flowmaster though...

Yeah seems like I read somewhere that you can sand off that top layer of the wood coating and then re-stain it. Who knows though. I'm not a fan of the dealer wood and prefer the factory plastic woodgrain.
Yeah I did paint the black shifter bezel black a couple of years ago since the black plastic looked really scuffed and nasty when I got it. I didn't really even prep it much but just cleaned and painted it. Seems to be holding up pretty well!

so I'm getting this done today:
Timing belt, tensioner, water pump, t-stat, cam/crank seals, radiator, belts/hoses. i also ordered a B&M super cooler, but i noticed before i dropped it off that the PO already put one in it. woo hoo! so i will be returning that one.

I assume they just clip straight in, and no longer bother with the two locating screws?
I've been tempted with this mod... only I have the factory carbon fibre effect that was only available pre facelift.. so kinda what to keep that!
