That looks pretty solid. I assume you will use some type of adhesive pad to bond it to the dash?
If you want something completely solid, you might be able to pull the center bezel back and locate a mounting point (bolt/screw hole or whatever) and possibly make a mount that attaches to that – then bends around the bezel (probably need to shave an 8th off the back of the bezel right where the mount is so it will close over the bracket cleanly.
Similar to the way Hab has hers set up in the pic below – but on the side you want and attached behind the bezel.
I would do this myself but I'm way too lazy. But looks like you know how to design things of this nature so shouldn't be anything for you and might provide you with a very solid mount with plenty of flexibility in terms of viewing angles. Would also leave a smaller footprint on your dash.
You could even run a power cord for your phone through the back similar to how I ran my GPS in the pics below. It makes for a clean install without cords running all over.
Or better yet, if you can do wireless charging with you phone, you could make the bracket and then mount a wireless magnetic charger and run the power cord through the bezel. Then you just slap your phone up there and not screw with any charging cables at all.
Just a thought though. Your design looks really solid as well with two attachment points!
This one I got for Christmas is pretty solid. Installed it today. I still need to hide the chord though.

I changed out the left OTR then went to firestone for an alignment. Biggest mistake that Ive made so far. They did the typical 'set the toe and let it go' and sent me on my way. 10 minutes worth of driving showed that the steering wheel is over center to about the 11 o'clock position. I took it back and explained what the issue was. They put it on the rack and came back 10 minutes later and told me that the sub frame is misaligned and that I need to take it to a body shop to have it realigned to the body.
I stood up and looked right at the service writers face and asked him if anyone actually falls for that bull sh*t ? I'm waiting for a call back from their customer service dept.

Got the urge to try out the dupli color paint to see if it matched. I already know its a shitty paint job so I don't need your feedback about it. I took auto painting for 2 years but where I live I don't have my booth set up or the supplies to do what I am capable of. It is also 30 degrees out and dark so it was a spur of the moment thing. I also need to properly strip the old grill as the PO plasti dipped the hell out of it.

I broke, and replaced my spindle. Apparently I don't drive a racetruck. Sure felt like I did until it didn't though :=D: Had to drive out back to a maintained road for a tow for 6km. Tire got a torn up where it was rubbing against the shock tower. I had a log stuffed under the LCA to lift it enough where the tire was rubbing on the coil and not the tower but it fell out/crumpled at some point.

Stopped by the Toyota stealership to buy a new Trans Fluid dip stick (mine is all vent up and takes 5min to put back in after checking fluid level), new rear wiper blade, some ATF and some coolant.
Planning a 2,000 miles trip in a few days, so I'll keep some spare fluids in the trunk in case we need it.
Also got my oil changed, and the side marking lights bulbs replaced.
Today my new Hella horns are coming, I'm gonna install them and report back on the improvement (or not).

Did the new dipstick make a difference? Mine takes 5 minutes to put back in too, and it's also all bent up, but from what I read on the forum, that's normal for these trucks. Curious if a new one made a difference.

Nothing exciting today, I just dumped a can of BG 44K into the tank and filled it up and drove about 50 miles. I got about 17 MPG with mixed driving from the last tank. We had snow flurries this morning, I was hoping that it would start dumping so that I could try out the AWd setting, didn't happen. Maybe on Saturday..

Change over from steel cable to synthetic.
I bit the bullet and kicked my wallet in the Jimmy by ordering 100" of Masterpull Superline 5/16th line, a Factor 55 Flatlink expert, and a Factor 55 1.5 inch Hawse fairlead. Ouch! Lol. This is a late Festivus, early birthday present to myself. I think I am with it, lol.

Happy Festivus. Sounds like some solid choices. My winch came with synthetic. It was 30 LBS lighter then the same model with cable. Enjoy the weight savings. Both on the front of your rig and in your wallet. lol

Look who's getting ready to go shopping!!!!! McGeorge is a lot cheaper over Toyota of Dallas on this one for me, even in shipping. Scares the hell out of me when that one Lower Ball Joint doesn't say "Left" on it. I checked it like three times.

In my mind I do... I didn't see them on the site so I was going to search and get the specs. I know they were talked about on here. I've also got to get another set of cam bolts. I've got one set that never went in yet.
Figured all of this, and the ADS Coilovers that I bought I think around Thanksgiving can sit for a few months till I get gears. Then put it all in at once.

Agree- bolts. All I remember is there are an early and late style. I keep a set of the old ones in the tool bag for in cases.
You prolly have it but since I have it handy: 4 Lower ball joint bolts 59 ft lb and loctite, ball joint bolt 105 ft lb
