thats an ok price for buying online, but make sure it comes with the console bracket!!! (the seller mentions it only comes with park brake handle....without that bracket, its a no go IMO, or try and bend the hell out of your current bracket)
but I got everything I needed from a pick'n Pull yard, for less than $30. used an old toothbrush and soapy water to clean it up and it came out great.
if you have a yard near you definitely check it out. I found more goodies there than I was expecting.

After over 308,000 miles my original alternator bit the dust, leaving me stranded and being victimized by towing company for an $114 five mile tow job.
Dropped this 'lil pup in after buying it from LKQ's egay website for $50 total and only 90k miles on it. Wasn't gonna do the crappy chinese rebuilt route.:wave:

My battery light came on the night before at idle only. Thought it was the 6 yr old battery. The next day after being towed to my garage, I took a voltage reading at the battery while idling and the voltage was only about 12.4 rather than 13.7 -14.7.

I drove mine to the DMV and paid for 1 year of registration because next year it will be eligible for Historic tags (20 yrs old). I was *this* close to posting it for sale while the state inspection certificate was valid and adding the sale funds to what I got from selling the CRV and just out right buying something newer and not have to worry about repairs.
After looking at a possible candidate this morning, I said to hell with it and just registered it for a year.

I've been lurking on this forum for over a year and finally have joined/wanted to comment. This a great forum! Helpful, knowledgeable people with very few negative comments or negative opinions. A great community to be a part of (finally).
I bought my '97 SR5 almost a year ago, thanks to everyone for the help, the ideas and the lighter wallet!
We have been on vacation for the last three weeks, driving on the wrong side of the road in a crappy Holden. So nice to return home and take the 4Runner to run some errands. Just opening the door (the correct side!) and smelling the interior made me feel at home. Love these trucks!

Not really today, but I had a nice haul at the local junkyard on their Presidents' Day 40% sale. Two '99 headlights, two pristine door seals, two '99 heated mirrors, two '99 rear seat cushions with the headrest storage thingies, front valance, wood dash trim, shifter cover, Corolla fuse box, Land Rover driving and fog light switches, Limited bumper flare - all for <$100.

I just pulled my ash tray out yesterday during my commute home thinking "I have only touched this thing like 3 times in the last 4 years - I wonder if I could mount a ScanGauge there somehow...." hah. So that's what it looks like. I kind of like it. :yo: It doesn't look like it hangs out too far..

They didn't have the Limited bezel did they?

Removed the running boards and replaced them with new OE mudflaps from Toyota of Dallas.
Quick note for anyone doing the same: they include all the hardware, so you don't need to buy extra screws.
Is that the same mudflap that fits with the sr5 flares? Because I’ve been looking for some of those for when I remove my running boards and they are discontinued/sold out everywhere I’ve looked

I took mine on a 3 hr round trip to a hobby shop in Lancaster, PA. It rode well and the CEL is staying off. The fuel light came on at 230 miles, an all time new record. It keeps getting better the more that I drive it.

15200 miles and tired of "cleaning" the maf so broke down went to the Toy store and for 150 bought a new one. CEL gone so what next?

No, different mudflaps are needed for the black flares.
