Check out my build for one idea (link in sig). I cut my rockers out and replaced them with some rectangular steel. Tedious job, but came out great. With a black truck, it should be easier to match

Damn you.... I ordered two of these. One for my Tacoma, and one for my 4Runner. These look awesome compared to the factory ones.

I've been pretty fortunate as far as maintenance goes. I'm still on the original starter, alternator, and so on. The only thing that has been changed is the radiator and that was done by the previous owner. They also changed the ball joints with cheap ones and they failed while I was driving, but that's a different story:shrug:.
With my truck all I have done in is normal maintenance, I did have the timing belt tear on me (not break, I was able to limp it home) it was a Napa brand belt. I change the oil every 5,000 miles with only synthetic oil and only use OEM Toyota parts when something breaks/wears out. The timing belt and the ball joints I would say that those are the two biggest things that have failed. I bought the truck with 243,000 with all the maintenance records and it keeps on trucking. *knocks on wood* If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Wow just checked it out. That does look tedious as all hell. I'm either going to do something similar to that, or cut and weld an actual rocker panel onto it. Part of me just wants to go the easy route and conceal it though :evil:

Im blown away by the quality and design with these. Its a must for anyone with the broken OEM fob. Or if they just want some badass accessories
gave it a love tap on the dash.
with all the snow, my work truck was having trouble climbing up hill to the generators ( we make our own power, no cell service etc) my work truck is a ford dual cab 3/4 ton 4x4 studded snow tires with weight in the back for traction, plus the bed is full of snow for more weight, it could not make it up the hill.
I thought, hey I'm gonna try my 4runner , put it no 4 low, lit up the locker, walked right up the hill
thus the love tap

Hah, yeah. As soon as I saw them and the price I snatched them up. I've been looking for a set for the last 4 years, and I got lucky and saw that shortly after he posted them. I might have them refinished in a graphite or bronze color.

Well less than 2 years later same side failed on me going to work around 60mph.This happened yesterday afternoon just as I was heading to Austin for a family gathering.
Installed new lbj this morning, only took 30 mins.

Yikes! But on the first one (2 years ago?) it looks like there was no failure, just the nut fell off?
What did you use for a replacement LBJ, OEM or something else?

Just me on my way to work, it happend so fast.
Looking at my current budget and options no fixing my 4runner this time. Already have wrecker on the way to pick up and take it to a pick n pull.
Anyone in San Antonio need a TBU 13WL calipers and rotors?

Installed new bulbs and OEM plastic in my dash instrument panel. Finally lit up correctly, back to factory.
New OEM plastic installed (so clear!!!)
Dash put back together with new plastic installed
New OEM bulbs installed (clear with green sleeve)
Also, added a Moab sticker and finished the top half of my steering wheel Paracord wrap.

Anyways, i just ordered cs144 alternator form advanced auto parts, for $118 after coupon. Lifetime warranty.
