Seems like a neat place for school. We drove through there a couple summers ago on the way to Brimstone Hill from Turtle Beach. Was it hard being on the island long-term (besides the hurricanes)?

Flying out on the way home was awesome, there were so many service animals to pet in line at the airport, haha.

"Neat" is definitely one way to describe it. Vet school is notoriously difficult as it is, Ross throws a wrench into things by being on an island. While it sounds like all fun and games we actually spend most of our time indoors staring at books and computer screens 12 hours a day or so. Hurricanes, frequent power and water outages just make things more fun. This has certainly been an adventure that I will never forget, but its not for everyone. St. Kitts is a great place to vacation, it is not such a great place to live. Looking forward to finally being reunited with my wife after 3 years.

Today- well, it's not so much what I did to the 'runner, it's more like what I did for the 'Runner...

I got a daily beater to run around in. 2004 Honduh Civic LX. 5 speed manual, 241K miles ( you read that correctly) Original owner, he had a re-manned head and top end installed last year, radiator and brakes 7 months prior to that. It runs well and looks ok, it will get me in the mid to upper 30's on the highway. It will be nice to have $30 worth of fuel last for 350 miles!

Finally got the last 2 JIS screwdrivers to complete my set.. took over a month to come from Japan.

This is the others I ordered. No more stripped out screws anymore, hopefully.

Thats great to hear. The large animal sector has the largest need for vets right now. We actually have that picture printed on a shirt that one of the classes made for fundraising. Good stuff. Ill be finishing up my clinic year in oklahoma, probably wont be making it anywhere near SoCal but things could always change.

I was so close to going to vet school. Took the 3rd year pre-vet courses. But then decided against. Life shouldn't be about second guessing yourself so I have done other things instead which are good.

11 1.5” Black shower curtain rings
8 1” Black flat plastic buckles to remove net from frame

3/4”x16”x8’ whitewood base to hold barrier and keep sub from falling back when accelerating. Bedlined and sprayed tan with turnbuckles attached to the rear seat latches to keep it in place.

Installed a new coil and fixed my misfire

Got both O2's changed, changed out all the dash lights with LEDs (including all the warning lights too), installed a CB in the ashtray spot. Also installed a trans temp gauge (followed Tim's lead and went with the MaxTow, was able to cleanly route the sensor cable so I didn't have to splice it.) Still waiting on the A-pillar pod, and also still have to tune the CB/antenna. Then I can button it all back up. Once that happens, I'll tear something apart again :bigok:

Haven't driven it yet to see how the trans temps look. Interesting though is how fast the temp rise, in the driveway, put in drive and just held the brake, brought the RPMs up to just under 2k. The temps climbed real fast, even up over 230, so I stopped that real quick. Wasn't real sure if I trusted the gauge but external cooler sure felt hot.

Installed new power steering pump, opened and cleaned the PS fluid reservoir to find the internal screen was torn and possibly explains why pumps were not lasting long. I installed an in-line filter, but now worry how much the rack may have been impacted by the lack of filtration.

Replaced PS, AC, and Alternator belts. Started cleaning and degreasing the skid plate. Probably repaint it next weekend. Need to repaint my roof rack and windshield wiper arms as well while I’ll be shooting some black paint.

Now with the clutch master and slave cylinders replaced, new sway bar links, and a quiet non-leaking power steering pump, she is seeming quite civilized to drive again.

I installed some StrongArm lift gate supports this afternoon. Much better than the sagging OEM ones! I also received a CS144 alternator that I will hopefully be installing next weekend. I decided to get the pre-made harness instead of making my own, so it should go in fairly fast.

Took her wheeling! Having the sway bars removed helps a ton with articulation, although the rear will need to be addressed with how much it rubs when stuffed. Also, the driveshaft sure does like to hit that gas tank...

Installed the engine on my 98 4runner I bought Friday and took the first drive. First time its been on the road in over 14 years. Thing drives like brand new. Mixed feeling about putting a 150k engine in a 42k 4runner. Runs and drives great though.

Those are some great pics! Didn't know there was a lot of wheeling in Spring TX! I was there last year and I really liked Spring. Had BBQ at The Corkscrew!!!

Just did my timing belt on my 3.4 and and hour later found out that my hose clamp for the oil cooler on the water pump wasn’t tight enough and slipped off and drained all of my coolant out. So I’ve had some fun with my runner today

There's a steel plate on my drive shaft that snagged my gas tank skid and tore a lip into the skid - I thought it was only me
