redid a leaking valve cover gasket. put a spare tire on. drove over a screw at an oreillys parking lot. i got that p0301 misfire cleared. turns out the efi fuse was bad, i hope. it hasn't come back in about 200 miles. i just dc'ed the battery while redoing valve covers and the CEL came back on when i fired it up real quick. pulled efi fuse and cleared it. hope that doesn't come back.
if i let fipg sit for maybe an hour or so before cranking it, was that enough? it was starting to smoke from the side i redid so i shut it all off.... hope i don't have to redo it again lol.
someone texted me wanting to buy it. i listed it on craigslist a couple days ago as a backup but im starting to grow fond of her.... if the CEL stays off!!! lol

I replaced my lower links with some less used ones. Sold the tires off my parts truck, mounted my full-size spare.
On my buddies truck- drilled a new pattern into the tcase flange, cleaned up and installed his front shaft. Went and tested his rig and check it for clearances so he can come wheeling tomorrow
Check out the wear on my old links. I could really feel this.
Every bushing was completely toast.

Replaced throttle body gasket (22271-62040)
Replaced IAC gasket (22215-62180)
Replaced MAF o-ring (90099-14141)
Replaced spark plugs (NGK 3967)
Replaced wires (18037-62050)
Replaced coils (Denso 673-1201)
Was going to replace the coil boots but thought I'd do the whole coils instead and see if it fixes the stalling while stopped in drive problem that happens randomly every couple of months.
I like this Toyota/Sumitomo wire set much better than the blue one, it comes with ALL the little clips and stuff which I've broken over the years, and is lined up already so you don't have to figure out which cable goes where.

Nice score! I found a nearly perfect carpet and headliner yesterday at a local yard, so those will be going in soon! They came out of a beautiful and almost fully intact '99 4WD. I was considering grabbing its coils (99 talls), but decided against it after seeing some rust on the suspension (we're spoiled here in So CA
).

Replacing an axle seal today with a parts store seal till I order a bearing kit, then I'll do it over again because I like to do things twice, and I'll flip the retainer/seal ring - Dr. Coffee mod
Since I plan to pull and reuse the ABS and 2bearing rings on each axle can I order a NON ABS kit that comes with only 2 bearing retainer rings vs 4?

Dropped the rear driveshaft to get a good pinion angle measurement. Turns out I’ve been at about 0.2 degrees between rear driveshaft, so I shortened my metal tech rear upper links by one full turn of the rod end. I THINK they are 9/16-18 thread, which actually translated to exactly one degree. So now I’m at 1.2 degrees between the two.
Today I found a nice little spot I could try to go through...
Found out open rear diff is useless.
And my brakes are not strong enough to stop the wheels in 4Lo/Trans 1st gear...
Needless to say I did not go through said spot.
Also flew my race drones all day at that spot.

Whoo! I am finding this renewed joy of working on cars because of my 4Runner. Installed an alarm and new rear springs. Will be installing inner and outer tie rod ends tomorrow and off for an alignment.
You might want to check for play in the LBJ at the same time, it's literally 4 extra bolts to undo/change while at it.

Finally assembled and installed the sliders that have been sitting in my garage for two months!
Also installed a used rear drive shaft I picked up to fix a bad chirping/tweeting sound that I have been getting the last week or so. It sounds exactly like the Ujoints squeaking and I thought it was the double cardan ball joint because when I tried greasing it it was bone dry. Unfortunately greasing the old drive shaft did not help and apparently neither did installing a new (used) one:boom:
Needless to say, even after greasing up the new one before install it's still making the exact same sound. The old double cardan was super floppy and loose when I took it off and the new one was much tighter so I was confident that was going to solve the problem. All well, I have no idea what it is now. Sounds EXACTLY like a Ujoint to me.... but what are the chances that both drive shafts would make the exact same sound? Sorry, I know this isn't really the right place for all that but I just needed to vent for a bit!

When I got my stuff the truck was intact but I was in my Camry and unable to fit much into it so I thought I’d go back Friday and it was all gone(literally) by the time I went back.

Mission accomplished, easy peasy
Installed new brake shoes on both rears wheels. 600 pulls on the hand brake lever later brakes feel good.
