I've got that set and they're fine for what they are. Just have to set them to whatever your desired pressure is and that's about it.

Im not a fan. Heard too many stories of them failing or just thought of stopping multiple times.

I love my tire (currie) ARB E-Z deflator. maybe 15 seconds per tire. Im back on the road in no time. They have a $20 knock off if your on a budget.

Finished our 4,000 mile road trip across PNW, BC, Banff, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Utah. Some pics below.

The 4Runner was an awesome road trip car! Very comfy, even if maybe a bit sketchy in high cross winds. But over the 4,000 miles, not a single issue, no loss of any fluid, just a joy do get in and drive every day.

We averaged 19.4 mpg overall, which I am very happy with. This included idling for 2 hours at USA/Canada border, some city traffic, etc. But the vast majority was at highway speeds of anywhere from 60 to 85 mph (thank you Utah!).

The mileage seemed to be roughly like this:

40-60 mph - 20-21 mpg
70 mph - 19-20 mpg
75 mph - 18-19 mpg
83 mph - 16 mpg

Halfway through the trip I removed the OEM bug shield to see the effect on mileage. It looks like the shield costs about 1 mpg at 50-60 mph, and about 2 mpg at 75 mph. Between that and the fact that the hood vibrates/flexes at highway speed with the shield on, I'm not sure I'm going to reinstall the shield.

Installed a divider that I built between the rear seats and cargo area. It's made with 4"x4" opening goat fencing panel, wrapped with 1/2" x 1/8" flat bar. The flat bar was drilled and countersunk for the fence to stick through, then tacked on the back side and ground flat. Brackets made to attach to the headrests out of 1/8" sheet and 7/16" coupling nuts, drilled out to 1/2". 2, 1/8" tabs at the top bolt it to the ceiling where the headliner clips use to be. Ceiling was drilled and M8x1.25 rivet nuts were installed (there's a dual layer so it didn't drill through the roof). Had it powder coated to match the interior when it was finished.

Awesome work. I have been brainstorming for months on how to build a barrier for my rig. There are some commercially available options that mount to the headrest posts like that, but they don't have the support at the roofline like yours. That's an inventive design.

Thanks Nick! Yeah, that lake picture looks a little upside down, I just wanted to convey the amazing color of the water, sort of like the Carribean. Here is another view of the lake:



And yes, those slopes are crazy, near vertical in places. Here is a view of the slope across the lake on our hike. See those two small dots right near the center? Those are two mountain goats - I just don't get why they don't fall off.

Yea I have one of the WeatherTech style barriers that I've used for a while but got sick of it. My dogs own the cargo area and I didn't like how the vertical supports got in their way. That and they would always angle in after time. Not to mention the marks on the headliner. I looked for other ones but read too many negative reviews on the ones that clamp to the headrest bars. So I decided to make my own. I had the idea of mounting it to the roof, but got the technique from another member on here. Don't remember who, but I think he has a fishing pole rack or something like that mounted to the ceiling the same way.

To get the shape I used a section of 1/8" round bar and started bending to match the contour of the ceiling/sides. Then I traced it to some foam board and cut it out for final adjusting. Once I had the foam board how I wanted it I used it for a template to cut the fence and shape the 1/2" flat bar. Only took a day to build once I was rolling. You should definitely give it a shot.

Yup you can do. Prep/scuff good. I rolled mine with no roller lines, nice rugged texture, easy to apply.

Good eye! It's not a Limited thing, the Limiteds have the same useless "Passenger" light (especially useless for me, since the '97 does not make use of that warning light). So true but even with out the soft top and just the tonneau cover or my rack they still called it. I will say in defense of Jeep Owners, it seems to be people who don't own a Jeep who've said it the most.

But I made my own stickers and had a friend print them. Took me awhile but only cost me 45.00 for 2 of those giant stickers.

Yeah those aren't near what I had after Overlanding even with lots of waxing / hard work in keeping the vehicle 'clean looking'. Given up on it as in the PNW trails seem to shrink a ton.

Prepping a rear axle with elocker for swap into my 4runner. Picked up a matching 4.30 geared front diff to go with it so I don't have to regear right now.
