Cool, sounds like a very sensible mod. Did you ever consider having the cable ride on a cam roller or something since it's at an angle? Any concerns with the center bushing wearing out or being overloaded?

There's not that much stress on it honestly. It's been like that for 2 years with zero noticeable wear on the upper brake line sleeve. If you've checked out my thread you'll see some of the stupid angles I've parked on to get some photo's to keep the masses happy. If it can live through what I've done to it I'm sure it'll be fine. lol

Installed rear cargo panels from a 99 with the help of my grandpa. Could’ve finished quicker but it’s was great bonding with him. He really likes what I’ve done to my 4R and says if he can take it back home with him.

Crappy end to a great weekend... Car prowl.
When I open my door this morning to head to work I felt something was quite off. The vehicle had been tossed and I quickly began to realize that someone had been in my vehicle going through all my things.
After returning late last afternoon from a fun weekend of four wheeling, I must have neglected to make that last run of items to bring in to the house. Not only did I do this but somehow I did not set my car alarm. That's probably the first time I've done that in 4 years.
Most of the big expensive stuff was left alone. They left easy grabs like brand new Maglite a Surefire light. They left all my recovery year it was tossed through in the back. From what I can tell it looks like they took the keys for the auxiliary locks on the outside of the vehicle to secure things like Jerry cans and spare tires. They also took my SCS spline lug as well as my Petzel head lamp... You know... dirtbag car prowler shit...
I am pissed at myself that the ONE time I forget to set the alarm, my motion detection house cameras don't pick it up.

Great! I wish I could take credit, but I copied it from someone else. It sure is handy with all the items I'm always trying to charge....more than there were in 2001.

What evaporator is that? OEM? if not is there an "as good as OEM" supplier? Toyota GB really rape me for import parts.

I got my Antenna working again!
It worked when I test drove it, then it stopped going down the day after. But it was fine as it still worked, it just didn't go down.
I recently lifted my truck and now the top hits the parking garage I use, so I tried to push down the antenna and it went down almost all the way. But it didn't go back up. So I just lived with a tiny antenna. I finally got tired of looking at a 6 inch antenna so I tried to push it down but it wouldn't budge. I looked up how to replace it and was thinking of ordering a new one, then yesterday I turned on the radio and up it went! It works again. I think it needed the pushing and hits to loosen up what ever it was that was keeping it down. Long story short, my antenna works again.
Note: it stopped again.

yea I took them off, not a fan of how they look
Repaired the front brakes on my '01 last night. I love how the manuals are written for rust free areas----"replace the lug nuts so the disc doesn't fall off." A few winters in the midwest translates into "put PB Blaster on it and hit the back of the old disc with a dead blow hammer until it breaks loose from the hub" The end result is great, brakes that don't pulse from warped rotors. I'll move on to the back ones next.

Gotta clean it a bit but it's already in much better shape than mine (the vynil on my arm rest is torn in many places).
FINALLY will have some cup holders worth something!
Also, anyone know if the clock from the 97 dash fits in the 99 dash? They charged me 8$ for the clock and 6$ for the ash tray on top of the actual dash trim...
But I can return parts if I want soo

CLEANED HAEDLIGHTS without having to bake them. I filled the lamp off with warm water and windex 2-3 times and added some ice cubes to help scrub the inside while shaking, then rinsed 2 times with tap water, THEN final rinse with distilled water so there wouldn’t be spots, then used hairdryer about a foot away for 10 minutes. Looks perfect

Yup, I reused my '97 clock in the '99 center dash bezel, no problems.

Wow, very nice! Do you have any "before" pictures? I'm on the verge of opening mine up just to clean the chrome, but seeing your results, I might try that method first!

You can't tell in pics, but this works best I think, you have to be careful if you actually took them apart because the chrome inside scratches instantly. I think this is better choice. I was planning on baking them, but figured i'd try this first, and if it didn't do the job, then I could always bake em, but it did it.

Yup, I realize that, that coating is extremely delicate. Were you concerned at all about the ice cubes scratching the reflective coating? That's the part I'm a bit concerned about.

Nope not at all. I didn't add the ice until the end, after any dirt debris was out, right before I did the distilled rinse. The ice won't scratch as it's in there with the water. You need some agitation, and the ice was the trick.
