CLEANED HAEDLIGHTS without having to bake them. I filled the lamp off with warm water and windex 2-3 times and added some ice cubes to help scrub the inside while shaking, then rinsed 2 times with tap water, THEN final rinse with distilled water so there wouldn’t be spots, then used hairdryer about a foot away for 10 minutes. Looks perfect

That turned out fantastic! I've got a few small restoration projects lined up this weekend involving the front end, sounds like I'll tackle this while I'm at it.

Purchased my 98 Limited 3 days ago then proceeded to do you usual stuff one does with a new rig. The timing belt had been changed by the PO with 70k left on it. Ordered tune up parts and LBJ just so I don't have to think about it.

I've been having to use mine as a DD for the past 3 weeks as my DD was totaled. As much as I love my 'runner, I had the realization today that I need to find another DD car to keep the wear and tear to a minimum on the 'Runner.
I need to address the small hole in the frame as well as getting the T-belt service done. Those are the 2 biggest thing it needs right now and each one of those jobs will require it to be un-drivable for a least a few days.

Created a witch's brew switch for DRL override. Basically took a '01 Limited Seat Heater switch, and replaced the heated seat icon with one I fashioned from a cheapo Chinese switch. The illumination works . So it's still 99.9% Toyota, except for the icon. Hopefully the Chinese icon won't infect my Toyota.

Finally after doing a ton of maintenance (vc gaskets, spark plugs, spark plug wires, 5 0 fuel injectors, half moons, cam plugs, white line lca bushings, UBJ, LBJ, energy suspension steering rack bushings, both Driver and passenger cv axles, front, transfer case , rear sdiff fluid change and welded the slip joint in the steering) got to drive this damn thing.

Lots of broken bolts, seized bolts and mother****ers were thrown around the last two weeks. But it was totally worth it all to few how she drives now. No more wandering on the highway. But I’m still getting the jumpy Rpms between 60-65 now. So next week or so I’m going to replace the coil packs to see if that helps.

Drove to work with the windows open this morning and heard a "thump thump thump" noise in tune with tire rotation. I looked carefully at every tire, and didn't see anything that would cause that. Maybe some sort of a bubble? We'll find out, off to America's Tire this afternoon. If it's not a tire, not sure where to look next.

Drove to work with the windows open this morning and heard a "thump thump thump" noise in tune with tire rotation. I looked carefully at every tire, and didn't see anything that would cause that. Maybe some sort of a bubble? We'll find out, off to America's Tire this afternoon. If it's not a tire, not sure where to look next.

How long have they been on there?

Maybe it is the former owner exacting revenge on you for finally legally claiming the title?

Changed the oil and added a quart of magic mystery oil. Hoping it helps my valve noise when cold.

Well I found the source of the thump thump thump noise, while staring at a two hour wait time at America's Tire.

On my left rear tire, one of the lugnuts was finger tight, and I am being generous. The other five were not undertorqued, were not fingertight, but were a good 1/2" backed off. So basically I was driving with one lugnut holding the wheel in place.

I wish I could pin this on someone else, but I'm afraid I'm the one who last put this tire on, when I did the axle seals. So I get to wear the dunce cap today. Hopefully this is at least partially offset by me being aware enough to hear the noise, and to identify the source before they even pulled the truck into the garage.
