What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I did this last summer on the passenger side. Did you get your dog leg from Wolf Steel too? The one I got didn't fit well at all so I had to beat it into submission with a hammer.

Make sure you get all of that rust! You definitely don't want to do the job twice!

Yes from wolf steel. It fits. But it doesn’t. The only area that they did not complete is the lower rocker panel area. That area on the dog leg is not shaped like factory. So you must shape it your self. Which is kinda annoying. But I’m not using the full dog leg. Only part of it. And believe me. I know, I’ll make sure all the rust is removed lol.

Went to drop the sun roof today because it’s not working and when you push up on it there is about 1/2”-1” of play.. I can’t figure out how to get this one last clip though, it appears that the bolt is pressed into the body so even if I could access it from above I wouldn’t be able to turn it.. any ideas??

would you be able to take a picture down the side of your 4runner to show how far those wheels sit relative to the fender flare? I just picked up a set of these wheels and am looking for some idea of how wide/far out they sit. good looking runner BTW.

Started pulling off the stock rack to add Thule crossbars and basket. Found a nasty bit of rust. Will be pulling the stock rack off and have it powder coated.

Anybody else remove the roof rack? Is water leaking an issue?

Yup. Those screws go right through to the inside. If you take the roof rack off and leave it, you will have holes directly in to the space above the headliner. Maybe put the screws back in and seal them up temporarily.

For anyone curious I ended up opening the clip with a knife, I think I’ll replace it with a nut when I put the new sunroof in..

I cranked my coilovers up to about 2" (LF 2-1/4", RF 2-1/8") and replaced my trans shifter bushings. Man what a difference!

Now I just need an alignment on a holiday weekend...

I used 1.25" spacers with these to clear the 231 brakes. Im pretty sure i heard they won't clear without them. They'll probably look fine offset wise with skinny or no flares. the wide flares come out a bit and the wheels look sunken in plenty.

They're for sale and currently off the rig so i can't take anymore detailed pictures.

not 100% sure but i believe the wheels specs are 16x7 with +25 offset/5" backspace for anyone that is wondering.

Volt Meter

Relocated my volt meter to a more permanent location with better visability.

It's fuse tapped to the ACCY. fuse so it comes on and displays battery voltage whenever the key is turned to ACCY or IGN. It also has a calibration function so it is calibrated to match battery voltage across the battery terminals. It's nice to be able to check battery voltage just by turning the key.

I know my battery is reading low. Sorry about the big photo.

Wasn’t done today. But I added this rear guide light bar. Super simple to install and works great! Has like 12 different modes.
