Putting together my Rocky Mountain roof rack that I just received. Took me about 35 minutes to get the template screwed in and another 25 minutes to mount it on top of my truck. Although there is some flaws and scratches with the aluminum items I am very happy with the purchase and very excited to mount my ARB awning on top of it

Pulled the spare to find a flat tire, re-inflated. Power steering flush and fill x2.

Finally finishing up the front end Drivers Side:

LBJ - OEM (37 ftlb seems crazy low..2001 FSM...but I put Blue Loctite and new OEM bolts in too.)
UBJ - OEM
Tie Rod End - Sankei
Wheel Bearing - Koyo
Inner/Outer Seals - Generic (National)

Just the Outer Tie Rod end to do on the Passenger side and I can get her aligned with the New tires on at last!!!

Nasty feeling I will be replacing the steering rack soon though :-(

I hit mine with steel wool and then a scrotchbrite pad to get the brushed look I was looking for. Some elbow grease but it turned out the way I wanted. Really wished they would have laser/water jet the sides in mirror images to make the finish work easier on the one side.

The future Mrs. NChacon1984 gave me the ok to order some parts...so i made a list of parts I am going to order. TBU, LBJs, Regear to 4.88 (F/R), 2.2 pulley and possibly dropping it off at a buddy's place this weekend to get my SC installed. I do want to upgrade my suspension to King shocks but it'll have to wait until i get my Xmas bonus. So my current set up might be for sale soon. OME 883/891 with bilstein 5100 with about 3000 miles on them.

Took delivery of 265/75/16 BFG AT and ordered a 2in lift. Should handle everything I need it to do.

I've replaced both front wheel bearings. Tomorrow I will replace the upper ball joint and lower ball joint.

Believe he was referring to used oil not being environmentally friendly. Fluid Film, for sure, is safe on the environment. It's Lanolin based. I use it every winter and has been essential in keeping my Seattle rig rust-free.

Ah. okay that makes sense. Definitely shouldn't go spraying used motor oil all over the place.

Here are a few pics after spraying it. Just has a sheen to it. But as you drive it will get dirt stuck to it and not look as pretty. Worth the trade off if you have to drive it in the salt.

"THE" bad spot is the rear lower control arm mounts on the frame. Other areas I had personally noticed are the leading faces of the cross members and some of the welds. I sprayed everything and kept a few cans on hand during the winter to touch it up and calm my paranoia.

One thing that I think is important to mention, since this topic is being discussed elsewhere on here too. FF is wonderful and all but dont let it stop you from cleaning/spraying down the truck in the winter like you would normally do. Let it help you do this not replace it. When I drove mine in the snow/salt one winter I still got under there (way too often) and sprayed it down. Low water pressure and the FF should stay on without issue.
