Very nice looking T4R3G.
Just a suggestion for your wind/bug deflector: sand, dirt, road debris, twigs, you name it will get between it and your hood and will wreak havoc with the paint job and create all kinds of rust problems, especially in your neck of the woods.
My Dad had to have one of these on his F150 and he was not vigilant in keeping the area clean (not really sure this is possible) and I spent $1,200 having the hood repaired and repainted once the truck was mine.

I see its a common problem lol, lots of great write ups here. Actually first time working on a car, usually have a shop for everything. Having fun so far
Noticed leaking brake fluid on rear driver wheel(im guessing, cause brake reservoir was low) another thing to the list.

Repair and repaint. It was in bad shape along the leading edge of the hood.
IIRC, a new hood would have been a few hundred more.

Took the fam for a long weekend in the mountains to do some fishing and swimming. Heard a light knocking in the motor Saturday. Trailered it home Monday and tore into it yesterday. Pulled valve covers and intake. Saw nothing out of the norm. Pulled spark plugs and #5 looked like this.....

i was too lazy/dirty to log on last night, but i put my skid pan back on as i never got around to doing it once i lifted mine and put the diff spacer kit on it.
to 4runner owners who use their car in the snow a lot: do you find that this skid pan helps keep snow from compacting out the front? i am curious.

As bad luck mentioned, it's probably the axle seal. Mine needs replaced too. If it smells like gear oil, it's the axle seal.
I drive in the snow a lot. B4 I moved here I lived in the mountains at 4500+ feet and tons of snow. Now I live here in Alaska...snow and ice...duh
no problem with my skid plates
woke up some mornings ( in Oregon) with 2 plus feet of new snow and no issues blowing though it. ( high elevation park ranger)
here in alasksa..no issue either....maybe im just lucky

Cleaning the interior, sport hood and carbon fiber wrapped B pillars
Started the day by using Mother's VLR + Magic Eraser to clean some of the hard plastic and vinyl interior pieces. The shifter was disgusting! I had no idea, but after I was done it was jet black. The interior grab handles, seat belt buckles and dash surround also got cleaned.
Then an alert on my phone let me know one of our local pick-n-pulls got a 2002 sport, and I finally had a chance to get a decent sport hood, with the insert intact! Will need to be painted but I couldn't pass it up.
Finished by trying out some very inexpensive "3d" carbon fiber wrap from amazon. A couple of my B pillars are pretty faded and the others have some scratches, and while I contemplated repainting them with trim paint, I figured I would give the wrap a shot first. Once I figured out the best way to seat it behind the window trim and lined up the print of the fiber so it ran vertical, I managed to keep the bubbles to a minimum and I am happy with the results. It matches the door sill protector pieces that I have, as well as the carbon fiber print on the stock gauges, and it is just different enough (especially in the sun) for me to notice. Total cost: $6
