Good point. Tire production date was 3114 so 8/1/14 thereabouts. Purchased 10/17/15 so they were 1 year and 2.5 mos old when I bought them and 5 years 4.5 mos when I yanked them. Elevated Ozone levels in NJ perhaps? Sidewalls also exhibited fine cracking near the bead.

Oh yeah for sure it was the only way she would let me spend real money on new tires! Lol. Now I have to consider tires as my Christmas present unfortunately taking the place of the lift that I wanted. Oh well, my birthday is in April so I don't have to wait much longer.

TBU and SS brake lines! And snapped the flare on the passenger hardline...so hopefully getting the new on on today before the rain hits.

Replaced the hardline and bled the system.

Did some fine tuning on my H1 retrofit in the form of installing Motoholders. Finally have these working pretty well, I'm pleased so say. Still not as good as cars I've had with OEM HID but a million x better than the stock candles.

And last week picked up a set of 5th gen TRD pro flootmats off of Craigslist for $25. +15hp.

hmm, interesting. i wonder what others are getting out of their ATs.

this weekend i got the TREs done, PCK welded in, and an alignment. but the damn alignment shop didnt straighten my steering wheel! :fencing:

Interior Upgrades

I've neglected my 4Runner's interior and the wife started complaining. I just added CarPlay and replaced most of the dash trim (after spending time on eBay.). New carpet is here but not installed, replace a worn seatbelt and I am looking for F30 BMW seats for another upgrade.

Put on some Falken Wildpeaks over this past weekend. They look nice and perform even better and are quiet on the highway! Size P265/75/16. I feel like this is the perfect size for these trucks.

It was a few days ago, but I put in a Kenwood DMX7706S double din.

CarPlay is really cool, my favorite feature.

No bezel trimming required, pretty much a direct bolt in upgrade.

A tip on the mysterious and confusing orange/white illumination wire that many people leave disconnected for fear of frying their rheostat - Metra 70-1761 has an orange/white wire in position 10 of the larger connector labelled "dimmer" which can be connected to the orange/white of the Kenwood harness labelled "illumination". This wire gets 12V power when you turn your running lights on and will dim the display and hard buttons. It also switches the style of some apps such as changing the CarPlay Maps app from light/white style to dark/black for night driving. Pretty slick.

This unit does NOT have a dedicated power antenna wire so your power antenna will always be up when the unit is powered on, even when you are not listing to the radio. Guess I will have to do Taco whip or add a switch, we'll see.

Otherwise the install was fairly straightforward. You could literally do it in 30 minutes if you have the harness already wired up. However the backup camera is another story...that took a long time.

Sounds like you're accusing me of doing something shady??

It's having it properly repaired, having the vehicle State inspected then selling it. The repair will be disclosed, as it will be visible.

The shady used car dealers around here will have a thin sheet metal cover placed over a rotted area, a fresh layer of under coating sprayed then advertise it as having a NEW frame, replaced by Toyota.
