Just got my ride back from the shop, guys did an outstanding job fixing up my frame. Just breathed new life into this baby!

Looks great! What kind of shop did you take it to? Did you just have them basically do rust repair? Pricey? Looking into this for mine as well and am curious.

Changing Alternator, Going to do a Tranny flush, Radiator Flush.

I will be installing a 10" yes a 10" Android GPS/DVD/Radio and modify my current dash. I cant stand where the radio sits now in the factory spot so i plan on customizing the dash. I might do a write up on the process. The idea is the make it easy to mod but not look cheap in the process.

It was a local all around repair/maintenance shop here in central Arkansas, but they also specialize in 4x4s and custom crawlers by the looks of the yard. Was recommended by an off road tire/parts shop in the area. When I talked with them initially the service guy brought up that they build and work on custom frames so that put my mind at ease. The service guy cut out the rot on the inside frame rail then welded the new plate in there.

After reading other frame resto threads here I knew going in that anything quoted under a couple hundred couldn’t be trusted and this shop quoted me $600.

Here’s a couple more pick to show how far he took it up the frame.

Straightened out my life

I tightened my rear view mirror so I wouldn't have to keep adjusting it every five minutes. Tomorrow removing wiper arms and hood cowl and Plastii Dip them.

I washed my vehicle, drove up to Conasauga Lake and around the neighboring wilderness trails. Also discovered a nice lip up under the fender flares that the previous owner had left some mud :/

Did he vacuum inside the frame? I ended up having to patch my frame as well and there was a good bit of loose rotted metal around the rot. That stuff is a moisture magnet. I vacuumed as much as my hose would reach. Took my front bumper off, stuck my garden hose through the rear opening, and got some more out. I pumped a good bit of used oil into the frame to neutralize whatever remained. I hate rust!

I hear ya. Don’t think he went to that extent. It’s definitely cleaner than it was, there’s still some loose pieces. My frame/undercarriage is due for another good inspection, wire brush and reseal anyways. Starting to see a lot of surface rust pop back up in the rear.

I bought more parts! You can never have enough parts. My headlights are SHOT so I got a set of used headlights from another member! I've got a big list of stuff going on in the next few weeks. I have purchased something every other week when I got paid. Not driving either car has saved me enough money to buy more T4R parts! Thanks 'Rona.

Im still working on the process. I been debating to either do a full from the arm rest up to the factory clock or just the radio bezel. I know in my 97 LTD the infamous no center cup holders near the E-Brake is a thorn in my side. So i may just do a full center console build. So bare with me im just trying to see what would be more beneficial vs Time to build it up. Right now im leaning more towards full center console conversion with rear heater controls and cup holders for the rear passengers.

Big day. Oil switch. After having run Amsoil XL for years I made a switch to the new Shell Rotella Gas. No noticeable difference yet.

Hope I don't regret this but by buying the Shell on sale I can do 2 changes for the price of one before. Realistically I am not going to do super huge OCI mileage either way, just can't do it.

I too have been running amsoil for years...but is super hard to get here so I recently switched to castrol till I find something I want to stick with

went in easy and fast, those rivets tho, super hard to get them to snap off, just making cruise control brackets now.
