Thanks for confirming that the LC switch would fit there as I thought it might. Looked at that option but agree, wanted more choices as to which locker was on when.
PS. Seat heater would be very nice (insert Homer drool emoji here)

PSS. Your neck of the woods for sure, mine don't think I used them last winter.

Swapping to your setup relocating seat heat to where it should have been on center console bit of work.
It's floating between my ears to just add a switch to RR circuit, LC switch in both position flip switch drop out RR easiest route.
Trail use you'd have to think about what you want flip switches accordingly, you see a downside to that ?

I'd rather have to have that extra thought bubble than not have the choice. It sounds like you'd have the set-up you're used to, then the extra only front option.
That being said, the front diff is pretty new to me. There have been a few times when I only wanted a pull-me rather than a push-me pull-me, and was glad to have the option- so I can say I don't see a downside if you can wire it up that way.

Over the past few days i've gotten the front part of my frame painted. Did 2 coats of POR 15 then 2 coats of Eastwood Extreme Chassis Satin Black. Painted the wheel wells with some rubberized undercoating. Also got JBA control arms in. Just waiting on my rebuilt spindles to arrive so I can get everything back together. Got them rebuilt by @heavy_friction_works on Instagram.

Heavy duty suspension

Hey guys I am new to the forum. I have a 3rd GEN Runner. I am looking to do automotive work out of it and would like to know what the best suspension for carrying heavy loads are. I plan to put a gas compressor in the back and my toolbox. I figure that the quick struts from a tundra would work well in the front but unsure what’s best for the rear. I don’t want to have to do major modifications regarding the height such as extended flex lines etc. Please help anyone who has experience in this specifically. Thanks a lot!

not wanting to do much ? My answer is then air bags. Quick and easy.
I put airbags in mine and it took tons of weight and no sag and when not loaded and air down you could not tell the difference from stock.

Replaced valve cover gaskets and cleaned up the top end! I'm not a mechanic, but the wealth of knowledge on this forum equipped me to do it and I had a ton of fun learning more about this truck!

Thank's, that's what I've run into wanting pull only at times. Front locker can break chit why I left LC switch circuit as is till I got familiar with using it.
This on a 01 no factory harness for rear, I kept it simple 1 SPST relay front DPDT relay rear this update be a piece a cake.

Removed running boards, bumpers (rear has some rust, front was mutilated), bad fenders and hood today. This is in preparation of picking up a 2000 in same Desert Dune for a donor vehicle.

Next up is OEM replacement of sway bar links, 99 springs, shocks, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump and maybe a transmission flush to boot.

I'm not very adept at any of this but I'm pretty ok at google....

Anyway, can anyone see any preferred order of the mechanical work while I've got some body parts out of the way?

Changed out my rack and pinion again then changed out the heater control valve and hoses at 346,093 miles

Don't flush the trans. Do a series of drain and fill fluid swaps driving it in between.

Coolant swap when you do timing chain and water pump. Valve covers and rear cam plugs at same time as timing chain, makes access easy.

The rest is the rest. I would consider all the front suspension bushings (LCA, steering rack, etc) at the same time you do front springs. How fresh are the brakes?

Will look into LCAs as well. Good point on brakes... List keeps getting longer.

Test fit these in the stock fog light slot.
S1 wide cornering amber. Now to figure out if I want to use the existing pre wiring for factory fogs and get a new stalk with a switch or wire them up my self to a switch in the punch outs beneath the dash hmmm options options options... also got to figure out a mount bracket. Hmmm gonna look BA

Finally installed these lights super easy install. Used some zinc bracing brackets from the hardware store to mount them into the bumper fog slots.

Finally found the time to giving the Silver Bullet some love. Valve covers have been leaking for about a year. Between back to back deployments and taking care of my family I haven’t had the time and it bugged the shit outta me neglecting the 3rd gen. But she held faithful and never let me down.

In the last week I’ve done:
-Valve Cover gaskets
-Valve cover grommets
-PCV valve
-spark plug seals
-cam plugs
-resealed the half moons
-replaced Sway Bar bushing w/ Energy Suspension bushings
-New windshield wipers
-scored a brand new LT265/75R16 KO2 for $75 to replace my spare tire. Full size spare woohoo!
-Ran some fuel system cleaner through a tank of gas
-SeaFoamed the intake
-SeaFoamed my oil (couple hundred miles before oil change)
-Changed the oil
-topped off coolant
-detailed inside and out

Hot damn she’s running as good as ever! 190k miles. I’ll never sell this damn truck

Installed new LED lights in the Dash for the HVAC and the instrument panel. Do not and I mean DO NOT! put LED lights in the turn signal location. They are so bright and blinding.

Also replaced the spark plug wires. New coils will be next months item. New plugs and wires are completed now.
