Pics or it didn't happen. New windshield. Today I painted the wiper arms, the cowl grill mesh, and will treat the cowl so it doesn't look like poop. Soon will be a gm rear view mirror with compas and temp. Just ordered ome 861 springs.

Don't mind the zip ties on the resis's. I'm getting hose clamps tomorrow from work.

Well it's technically not a gm mirror but many of the early to mid 2000 vehicles use them. It's the gentex mirror. Mine is a discontinued model but I got it new, pretty cheap a few months back. The model is the genk21a. It is a stand alone kit, comes with mirror, harnesses and temp sensor. I've seen the mirror mount srq has for this mirror but 120 bucks is out of my budget and doesn't look that good. So I'll just be gluing the little wedge mount to the windshield and wire up the sensor. Mirror is bigger then oem. Auto dimming too. When I install it I'll post up some pics.

I'd hit up a junkyard and get the mirror and the wedge mount and temp sensor, that's what I'd do if I were to do this again. The temp sensor is in the grill area on most gm vehicles.

Today I did a drain n fill on front diff and had a silver aluminum washer left over. It was the only one on either plug. Was it from the fill plug? If not, it ain't going back on. Do they limit the depth the plug can go in? I tried to find a spot in a Timmy video where it was discussed but ran out of time. Thanks

I believe the drain on the front uses a copper big washer, the fill uses a solid aluminum washer. The crush washers are the t-case and rear diff.

I can't remember quite exactly which washer belongs to the fill or drain, but my question to you is did you replace the plugs with the Lexus ones that have a nipple or did you reuse your OEM hex plugs?

This is how Diff D & F washers play out, my records show purchased and installed.
Transfer case D & F 90430-18008 solid aluminum.
Front Diff drain 90430-24003 solid copper.
Front Diff fill 12157-10010 Aluminum crush.
Rear Diff drain 12157-10010 Aluminum crush.
Rear Diff fill 12157-10010 Aluminum crush.

This time I didn't upgrade the plugs. They are still in good shape and I don't think they are prone to stripping just yet. Next time for sure.

ARP head nuts re-torque, requires camshaft removal, everything was still to the correct torque, re-torqued anyway with all the work it requires to get to said.

Got the ome 861 springs installed, put in adjustable panhard bar, and mocked and measured the rear for limit straps. 17" straps will be what I'm going to use. I have tmr's for the front, but I didn't realize they are in Canada and shipping takes forever. So the rears I'll try ORW (off road warehouse) straps.

Then moved onto the gentex mirror. Got the temp sensor on the grill and ran the wires and hooked it up. Tested and it works perfectly. It is bigger then stock so the sun visors hit the mirror. But mounted it so the pass side will go its full stroke and the drivers hits rhe mirror. I rarely use them anyways. Waiting for the glue to cure over night.

Sadly the rear sits exactly like the C59-210v springs did, sigh. So here is the hub to fender measurements.

F: 22" same on both sides upper arm is almost flat.
R: 25" rear both sides (pass side has a 10mm trim pack)

So my conclusion is I need to raise up the front quite a bit. Those front coil overs have been on the 4r for a few months now so the springs may have settled a bit.

I truly wish there was a spring that have the free length of 19+ inches but had the lift height of 891's. So I don't loose a spring during flexing. Either way I'm not at my final weight for the 4r. Just wish money grew on trees.

Yes on the 01-02 would be damn near impossible without disabling abs and maybe Trac control too. As you'll need a lc80 booster and master to have the correct brake bias. Works great with the tbu and lc80 rear calipers.

So far I really like the baja boss. It performs great in dirt, rocks and sand. Haven't been in mud with them yet or rain. They are moderately quiet for the blocky tread. They are a bit heavy though. They are 265/75r16. Wish they had them in 255/85r16's though. The only downside I have so far is they pick up dime sized rocks, so after a trail I have to pick them out with a screw driver. They are great on the highway too. I did the chalk test to get correct psi, 26psi for me. They are E load range and ride just fine.

Currently the OEM ECU, planning to stay with the twin sequential and Auto trans and wanted to keep the shift management that came with said (The de-power before shifting).

Today I centered the rear axle with the adjustable panhard. It's centered within 1/16". Can't complain about that. Also got the gentex mirror installed. The glass button mount thing hasn't fallen off yet, but I'm not holding my breath, so I have some clear epoxy that I'll use when it does. Drove in circles to calibrate the compass. Man it's nice!

Yep I saw that, but the price, for what it is, is to much for me. But thank you for the link!

Today I went and got 4 bags of 90lb cement and loaded up the 4r. Well it only lowered it by 1/2 inch! 360lbs and only 1/2 inch! Nuts! Well the search continues for springs. Man this kind of sucks. Just about ready to either heat or cut a coil off. So far, c59-210v, ome 861 just about to put the old ome 891's back on, sigh.

To add more salt to the wound, the rear shocks need to be re-tuned, was to bouncy and soft. Well I'll get this all worked out. Nothing is perfect the first time.

Mirror works perfectly! Compass and temp were spot on! 110° today and for the next few days.
