Don't want to start a thread for this, so: Has anyone had issues with the rear side windows getting stuck and not going down? My rear passenger side window get stuck about 1/3rd of the way down when one side seems like it sticks, and motor struggles and cannot lower it further. Happened randomly. From what I've read on google, it could either be a bent track (did nothing that could have bent it), or I just need to lube it, which none of my previous cars have needed. This isn't a common problem is it? I figure I'll just buy some silicone lubricant and grease up the rails in there. Is this a good idea?

Thanks!

Also, that overland expo looked awesome! I have some friends that went. Awesome location for it in Asheville NC. Good looking 4runner as well.

at a quick glance that looks extremely similar to the Shrockworks bumper!

The winch opening is on the front of the bumper vs the front slant and the bumper is a kit that you weld together and you can make your front hoops more or less angry... or just dont do the headlight guards at all...

I really do like the welding that goes into these. and at the end of the day you make it fit to your rig vs someone else's that was the basis of a mockup.

Honestly, I would just replace the window regulator. A good one should be under $100, and it'll last for another ten years or so. I used to have a mid-2000s BMW, and window regulators were almost considered a consumable on those. Just consider it a wear item, I guess.

Finally refinished my headlights. I removed them and wet sanded them with 1000, 1500 & 2000 grit sandpaper. After wet sanding i used a UV protective clear coating for a few coats. I let them sit over night and then wet sanded the clear coating lightly. I finished them off with machine polishing and sealing. I had wet sanded them a few years ago but they started yellowing within a few months. With this UV Clear coat they should be good for a few years now.

I'll definitely look into it if lubing doesn't fix. But the motor and everything seems to function fine but it just gets jammed to one side after it goes down a few inches. But goes back up again fine. Looks like one side is sticking so it just stuck at an angle. Good to hear it's only $100 whole fix though.

nice. how did it turn out? what UV clear coat did you use? when you machine polished and sealed them what did you use? i used NOVUS 3-2-1 on my headlight a few weeks ago but it's not as crystal clear as i hoped it would be. i only wet sanded with 1500, then did all the NOVUS. i want to give other options a shot.

this weekend i got new tires (265/70/17 cooper discoverer AT3s) and deleted my running boards. looks much better!

Yes I do run spacers. Had wheels balanced again. Minimal difference. Had wheel spacers removed. More of a difference but still an issue.

Dropped off truck today for another alignment and to push Caster closer to 4 as most people say that is the sweet spot to get rid of the "floaty feel" after lifting. Will get truck back tomorrow and see if there is any difference. If not it will go to shop on Wednesday for diagnostic check on all suspension and steering.

Just wanted to follow up on this after today. Was able to get my caster to 2.4 degrees on both sides and the difference is night and day. Was around -1.7 on each side before. Shaking is nearly unnoticeable now, still there a little but I chock that up to the AT tires I guess. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. Back to Modding!

Sadly my T4R has been watching us split and stack wood all weekend. Our Taco has been happy to get a work out. :)

I posted this pic in "what did you do with your 4Runner today" from my trip to Moab. This was taken at the overlook on Hells Revenge.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd my battery's dead

:mad2:

Got my truck jumped and got it home, the battery was hanging between 12.5 and 12.7 stable and didn't appear to be dead. I cleaned my negative and positive terminals, as my ground terminal had a decent amount of corrosion on it, and the positive terminal was loose and kept wiggling loose even after tightening, so I moved a wire up top and was able to tighten it down super tight. Hoping that was all it was, truck fired up fine the next 6 times that I tried it.

What are you guys using for accessory wires on your battery? Should I look into an external fuse box?

I have them just wired directly to the battery.

This is what most people are using that have a lot of electrical. Universal with Modular 6 Double LED Switch Panel

I have one sitting in a box and I will sell it to you if thats what you are looking for. I wont charge shipping :bigok: I just haven't had time to do the work but its super easy install and very clean.

How much is that going to set you back? I've thought about having mine resprayed

Also curious about this. I got more than a few spots where the factory clearcoat is failing.

Figure at some point a respray of some sort will be in my 4Runner's future.
