I need to lift the billies up to 2.5" tomorrow or Monday. Lots of rubbing and it's effecting the fender flares next to the doors. Not good! Then I have to try to get an alignment if I can afford it.. Ugh. Money sucks

I do miss the 4runner but this car really does drive great. And now that my commute is 45 miles round trip when previously it was 8 miles round trip the 30mpg I get is awesome.

Lol...thanks Jon. It also helps that it's not a daily driver. The majority of the time it sits in the garage plugged into a trickle charger. It's a play rig that gets used mostly for carting the dog around and trail runs. It only has 14k on the clock.

Any problems getting the driver upper link out/in ?

No problems getting the upper links out of the mounts. I did soak the nuts and bolts with penetrating oil the night before. When removing the mounting bolts, loosen the bolt by turning the nut and not the bolt head. There are small teeth in the bolt head flange that keeps the bolt from turning. Rotate only the nut since the bolt tends to stay locked in place when the teeth are dug into the mount.

Found a decent use for the storage compartments in the back by using some foam with cutouts for a multi tool and led mini flashlight. Just need to find a good spot to put some jumper cables:

All my tools and what not are stored in a tool box that's lashed down to the deck. I keep random bits in those compartments, I think I have some gloves and brake/carb cleaner and some seafoam in one.

attempted the daystar spacer lift, stripped a allen key nut, and gave up. definitely not a job for me. I REALLY wanted to lift it, but I highly doubt I will now.

Yeah, mine sits all winter. I won't even take it out to play as long as the road crews are still slingin' salt. I've got about 30K on mine now.


I was interested in how it was getting at the driver side upper link with it tucked up next to the gas tank. Passenger should be easy.

What are the link skids sold as ? listed for FJ ? Apparently the Lotus design will not fit our Runners. I could not find those listed for the 4Runner on the All Pro site.

And did the night shade stuff on the tail lights... It's like crack! And this is at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama...

Throw a lift on! I just bumped up my Bilsteins to 2.5"+ my FJ coils. It's tall now.

I installed new Centric front rotors and Akebono pads... much better! I also removed the front sway-bar and took it for a spin. Cornering doesn't seem too bad without it so I think I'll leave it off for a while and see what living without it is like.

Got the stoptech stainless steel lines in, i think they mislable the rear left and right lines, flushed out my brake fluid, driver front was the dirtiest. And also drain and fill the radiator, also put in a new upper hose, the aftermarket lower hose is too bended to even work, guess ill use toyota instead of dayco. Top the same, but we got it to work.
