Pulled the trigger on a complete toytec lift, the front coils are backordered but should get everything my 2nd week of March. . . :roll::roll::roll::roll:

Daystar rears

Well I can't tell from this shot if it sits higher or if the root under my driveway is raising it up . Decided to go w/both spacers in the rear , gonna drive it for a tank full to see how it settles . When I get to my son's school take a cpl more to see if its level .

I had a good experience with...

Miller Toyota in Culver City, CA today :drum:. It was time for the truck's 80,000 mile service so I drove out to WalMart, bought six quarts of Mobil 1 Extended Duration (?) synthetic oil, then showed up at 11 AM and asked for service. Since I had just completed a 3,500 mile cross-country blast at supra-legal speeds I asked that the tech take extra care looking for leaks around rear axle seals, wheel bearing seals, plus fluid levels in trans, transfer case, front/rear diffs, radiator, etc. Tech reported back no problems with anything, anywhere, thereby cementing my high respect for this brand and this model of truck. 2007 was apparently a VERY good year!

Then they tried to sell me a throttle body cleaning (tech said it was 'black in there')and a fuel injection flushing service. I do understand that those services are in general over-sold and over-rated, but than the service writer took $80 off of those combined items, so I caved and went ahead with them. They made a little (?) money and I saved a little money........and I just "feel better" for having done something a little extra for the truck, even if of dubious utility. I can't help it. When someone recommends an extra service for the truck, I react like Pavlov's dog! Even when I know better, if they offer me a deal, they might just as well ring a bell and show me a plate of filet mignon. I just start to drool.

Oil change took a bit less than 6 quarts, and the tech returned the unused portion of the last quart to me. First time in my life that has EVER happened.

So I was in and out in under three hours, for $300 even, and am feeling very pleased with myself for being so responsible with the truck's care and maintenance. The fact that I "only" got overcharged about $100 makes me feel very clever too, even though I know better.

Going to try to do some group 4-wheeling while I'm out here.

For some reason I worry that it will rot out inside the bedliner and I wont see it. Let me know how it works out for you. I think im just going to paint again this year but be more thorough and maybe use something better than rustoleum rust converter and black rattlecan. Im going to do a nice repaint in the front when I put on the new bumper . I'm thinking about getting some salsa red touch up paint for the coils and fairlead too just for bling factor . Rust makes me loose sleep.

I want red springs!!!!

I hope my frame doesn't rot out! I'll prep and clean with mineral spirits to evaporate all the water. If its clean, it won't rust out. Problem solved
 
I don't think we have anything to worry about. These frames are pretty stout. Surface rust sucks though, I get annoyed as well. I put about 2 coats of high temp paint under there in November. In the summer I plan to be more thorough, wire brush, rust converter, then probably 4 coats of paint.
