Re-booted the CVs with OEM boots. Feels good to have that done! Doing Whiteline LCA bushings tomorrow
What method are you using to replace the bushings? Any good write ups?

Sealed up the frame and wheel wells. Won't go into how messy and a pita this is but well worth it. I did the rear a few weeks ago.

The only pointer I read that helped was heating up the metal around the bushing and heating/prying on them until the rubber is completely out of the sleeve. Then I took an air body saw and cut the metal sleeves in half length wise and pounded them out with a hammer and punch. Could do it quicker next time around now that I have all the tools necessary. I used my 20 ton press to install the bushings but could have made some kind of press out of all thread and some metal sleeves but the press was way easier once I figured out all the pieces to make it work.

Changed the oil in my diffs & transfer case. Used Mobil 1 synthetic but saw the following in a write-up thread. PM’d the guy who posted it but also wanted to get general opinions as I’ve never heard this before.

You have to use Toyota transfer case fluid. this is a special fluid that has additives to protect from wear.. has electricals in the case. viscosity is not the problem .... mobil synthetic does not have any of these additives.

Finally, sorting the gaskets isn’t brain surgery but can be a PITA if you get a set that’s jumbled together in one unmarked bag and you’re doing each part on different days, so I added labels to a pic I found online in case it’s handy for anyone else.
Is it odd that the t-case drain plug has no magnet? Thought something was wrong until I saw the t-case drain & fill plugs are the same p/n.

As for the reverse rake in question. The 4th gen 4Runner and 2nd gen Tacoma are a little weird in the sense that the body line is not level with the frame. The body line slopes upwards as it goes towards the fender. It is recommended to gently bend the side wing top plates up as you assemble each side wing so that it follows the body line as closely as possible. It looks like you did that as you're body gap looks nice and consistent!

Try laying a bead of silicon all the way around where the lens meets the housing. Went through two leaking passenger sides, did that on the third, and it's finally been good for a few months.Third time, hoping, but doubtful they won’t leak-again. Love the look but the aftermarket headlights go to crap so easy. Warrantee replaces them though.
Already tried. They don’t start leaking till a year in. So hopefully yours has success, but you’re still early into the testing. That’s why I switched brands from the second on. Same lights but a longer warrantee.

My rusty sunroof started to leak. Checked drain lines and they were clear. I concluded that the frame was rusted to the point that it wouldn't seal. We located a used roof panel and I had it installed at an interior shop. Not something I was confident in tackling. $375 out the door roof and labor.
