Drove an hour down to Atlantic Highlands for a 23 mile bike ride out to the Sandy Hook lighthouse and back. Rode from about 8am to 10 am.

Beautiful morning and a great ride. Drove there and back with the windows and rear hatch window down on the GSP. Doesn't get any better.

Alternator Replacement on 2008 V8

Replaced stock alternator with a high output version.

I would not recommend this project to the faint-of-heart mechanically... its not that hard to do but it takes time and its a royal pain in the ass.

Busy weekend.
On Saturday, we drove to Indianapolis to pick up the set of 5th Gen SR5 wheels I recently purchased, played disc golf at Avon Town Hall (8 under par) and had Cheeseburger in Paradise for lunch (yum). On the way back to St. Louis, the front cap blew off my roof rack on I-70, so we got out and looked, but couldn't find it. Scoured the internet looking for a new one before calling my dealer, who may be able to "good will" it and replace it for me. Also, picked up my brother in law and his wife from the airport.
Today went to play disc golf at Sioux Passage and took a number of pictures by the river, prairie wildflower grasslands, etc. Also, took teh running boards off so the shop can look at the area to install my forthcoming sliders...

Yeah... "Limited" is so negative-sounding. Why not make it "Special Edition", or... yes, "UNLimited."

let see, today i cleaned 3 maf sensors and 3 throtle bodies, all 4.0l v6 engines, went to blk-4runner and help him out a bit, alot of light and needs some more adjusting, maybe fab up a rod that sticks out 1 inch more to aim the lights higher. came back and install new back up lights, changed out the pilot navigators to some catz msp fog lights. these are quality japanese stuff.

Just started 45k scheduled mtce by changing out gear oil in front and rear diffs and xfer case (the latter not required 'till 60k, but did anyway). Job went much easier than same tasks at 30k. At that time the fill and drain plugs were a bear to remove since they were torqued on too tight by garage that did the job at 15k. Decided to do 30k mtce myself, so bought a micro torque wrench and was careful not to overdo it when putting things back together. Also coated tops of threads and all washers with Anti-Seize to prevent rust from forming. Getting those fill and drain plugs out this time was super easy.

I'm definately curious about those pads, keep us updated. I have a little bit of time left before I have to do my fronts, but haven't heard much about them. Either the normal pads or these.

Just to keep you updated, the TRD pads did very well at MSR. I was able to out brake two cars 1 in the back 1/4 mile and one right before a corner. So braking performance they are pretty good for the price. Daily driving wise they are nice and quite but grabby. I like this style but i don't know how well you would like it, plus they dust up like my carbotechs, which is alot.

On wednesday was my bday, decide to rotate my tires, got to use some air tools and garage at my favorite shop, then thursday did an alighnment since my front inner side of tires got smooth, turns out the camber was at -6 on drive and -9 on pass, i guess the pot holes screwed i up. Today got my windshield replace, its a benson brand and it seems the dots on the side is half inch more bigger than the original, but for 145, seems cheap. Gota save up for some new tires, lookin to upsize from 285 40 r22 (300) to 285 45 r22 (210), what a big price difference.

Replaced the license plate lights with natural light LEDs from superbrightleds.com. Now the whole truck interior and plate lights are all LEDs; looks real luxurious love it... now need to find a nice exhaust tip and im done for now
