im rebuilding my rears this weekend. Ride is killing me, all because i got a little air in Pismo and blew out the bottom seal.
I went to the dealership to order a new window belt for the outside, one of mine broke and is cracked so i figured i'd replace.
Also took pics with this

bought a greddy oil cooler adapter with 2 1/8 pt fitting for the gauges and the fittings for my oil cooler. I will buy the rest tomorrow.
Did you bottom the shock? If so might time for extended rear bump stops. Or was it just from wear and tear due to the miles? I find that over my last few sets of Fox's they need rebuilding every 40k or so. I usually just send them in every 24months. Did the same thing with my Ohlins.

i think it was over time. My friend works at Poly Performance and noticed i was leaking a little oil on the shaft. So i got rebuild kits and have soft jaws to hold them. I bought them used so i dont know how many miles or how they were treated before me. Its only one side thats leaking so i think its just from time/usage.

outer window molding at the bottom of the window. Mine cracked and the rubber is only held on by the ends. I dont want the window to grab it and suck it in.

Ahhhhhhhh, I've been wondering what that piece is called. My drivers side front is cracked almost half way across. How much are they from the dealer? Any idea on how they come out? Do they just press fit onto the top of the door?

Did this a week or so ago. Here's the post from my build thread:
My headlights were pretty cloudy and I had pondered just getting a new set. If I was going to go new, I also wanted to try one's with black bezels.
I decided to just do the one's I had and save the cash. I also did the DRL/turn signal and driving lights while I was at it to complete the look and because they were also looking pretty cloudy themselves. Since I had to remove the housings anyway to cook them in the oven to do the black, I went ahead and used this to my advantage and was able to polish the lenses off the vehicle and disassembled from the housings.
I bought the Mothers headlight lens renewal kit that comes with the small powerball for your drill. But, I instead mounted this into my drill press which allowed me to keep both hands on the lens while polishing and this gave a lot of control and I was able to put as much pressure on it as I wanted.
It completely changes the look of the front. Now I just need to Satoshi my grille.

My cost was $14 and some change. Retail is around $20. It pops up after two small screws on the inside of the window per the blow out picture.

I tried to buy this from you a couple weeks ago off CL when I was down in sac looking at the one we finally found and bought. Glad i went stock so I can build it to my taste

That looks awesome! :thumb: A couple of quick questions.... Did you bake the fog/turn signals to remove the lenses like the headlights? Also, what did you use for to blacken the backs?

I did these for a friend a few months back. I use krylon plastic paint. Matte black.
You need to bake the fogs and turn signals.

Yes, they need to be baked to disassemble. Same type of sealant holding them together as the headlights. I used Rustoleum Industrial flat black for all the lights.
Be prepared to spend some time on this project. I spent hours doing this, much of the time was spent waiting on the baking. I let each lens sit for about 12-15 minutes at 225. Even though the DRL & driving housings could all have fit in the oven at once, I did each light one at a time after realizing that putting two at a time in the oven allowed one of them to cool while I worked on pulling the other apart. By the time I got to the second light, it was cool enough that I needed to put it back in the oven for a couple minutes.
Doing one at a time, just the oven time between two bakes (one for disassembly & one for reassembly) on 6 housings, was probably 2.5-3 hours alone. Now add on the time to throughly clean each interior piece to ready for paint, the painting, and drying time and you have an entire day if you work on it from start to finish, or a couple days if you don't do it all at once.
I had even more time into mine since I wet sanded all 6 lenses using 4 progressive grits, and buffed them out. Let's just say that I'm glad they came out nice and the time didn't end becoming a complete waste. :wacko:
