What did you do with your 4runner today?

Diagnosed the dreaded seized up center diff lock and 4wd Lo actuator :sad:

If anyone has the hook up on dealer parts I sure could use it. Been quoted 927.00 for villagetoyotaparts.com and 1187.05 at the local dealership just for the actuator assembly.

Jeeze. Motivates me to open up the box and spray WD40 on everything. I've been using my 4x4 switch every time I head out.

Drained my old "cv grease" cleaned out the cv's and replaced with fresh cv grease as well as installed the marine style worm clamps that actually seal the boot. Fun job if you're looking for something to do.

I spent today wondering if I spent too much on my remote starter yesterday. I figure that I would be willing to pay someone $5 to start my truck; so as long as we have 28.5 more days of freezing temps for as long as I own my truck (and the RS is operational) then I'm good.

This is probably no big deal to most people up north, but seeing as how we got a full day of snow, DFW is on the freakout about it and there are accidents absolutely everywhere. For a normal 20 minute commute, it took me an hour and a half to get home from work. I spent some of the day making a snowman... it happened to take form right next to the Runner lol. Snowman noob here.

Yeah, Im sure y'all are totally over it all by now lol. On what would be a light snow day for y'all and seriously a joke, that is all that is talked about here, on the news, radio, everywhere, everything shuts down. No one here has 4x4. I'm ready for my 70 degree weather again. Should be there Tuesday.

Pulled my wrecked bumper off after getting insurance Quote. I want cbi with tire carrier but that would eat up nearly all of my insurance money and I'll still have a dented tailgate. Thinking I may pay a body shop just to straighten it, and then I'll paint the lower third of the gate black like the cbi bumper would be painted and follow that line across the back to match the bumper line. It would be similar to how the fj rear end is. Are the any other options for a rear bumper cheaper with a company that ships?

its commonly though that us northerners are all perfect in the snow and unless its 6 inches plus we don't even change our schedules. well let me tell you, there are three types of drivers up here in the snow;

1. theres snow, I'm going to die, 10mph
2. I'm from new england, i am better than the weather, 50mph
3. I've assessed the situation and drive the appropriate speed.

theres a hell of a lot of 1 and 2 up here, three is harder to find lol.

On a 200+ mile road trip averaged a measly 15.2 MPG (calculated at pump). Big tires, light bar and roof rack really killing the mileage, but whatever, normally I only have a 2.5 mile commute so It's not the end of the world.
