What did you do with your 4runner today?

its commonly though that us northerners are all perfect in the snow and unless its 6 inches plus we don't even change our schedules. well let me tell you, there are three types of drivers up here in the snow;

1. theres snow, I'm going to die, 10mph
2. I'm from new england, i am better than the weather, 50mph
3. I've assessed the situation and drive the appropriate speed.

theres a hell of a lot of 1 and 2 up here, three is harder to find lol.

It's the #1 people that really piss me off and that seem to cause most of the problems too. Hate those people!

Washed it.. Then realized shortly after that both front sunroof drains are blocked by snow turds. Tried to get them free and flowing but got tired of laying in the snow.. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow so that should do the trick...

Stumbled on an inexpensive small shovel from Harbor Freight and decided to see how it would mount up on my custom roof rack.



As I have time I'm also going to add mounts for two scepter water cans and possibly a fuel can.

As I was driving today I could hear water sloshing back and forth up there. It's supposed to be warmer the next 3 days, really hoping it thaws out! My headliner is wet over on the passenger side now too... Been damn cold here last couple weeks!

You found one local? The 885s held my demello bumper pretty good not sure how they compare in weight

yeah, found one in richmond. that's good to know. pretty sure DO is around 20-30lbs lighter.

Averaged my best mpg's on a 210 mile round trip from Denver to Beaver Creek. 19.5 mpg! Since switching from 265/70 C load BFG's to P285/70 AT3's my mountain trip mpg's have gone up. Used to get 17-17.5 with the BFG's. The bigger tires are getting me better mileage and a much more comfortable ride. A definite plus since I'm making the drive 3-4 times a week.

Driving back from a ski weekend in CO this weekend on the conjugal visit with the wife and took a detour off the main drag...turns out there's too much snow to keep going...the turn-around point:
