eh, consider it a treat.. Time to get better handling/driving shocks and struts. I hear 5100's are really popular.

I was quoted almost $1k for non OEM suspension and told the guy hell no, I'd just lift it. I have my 2012 FJ suspension in my garage, would the springs work with the 5100s? I usually buy OME lifts for my toyotas so I'm not familiar with Bilstein. Thanks

Started doing Uber driving in my t4r...people like it. Ive had complements and it forces me to keep it clean. Anyone else do Uber or Lyft? Maybe some of you mall crawlers?
Not sure if gas prices and mileage will keep this sustainable or not. Just gonna try it out for a month or so and hope I don't get carjacked...

Got one step closer to starting my build. During the next week I'll have my front/rear 5100s, Midland 1001LWX CB (I wanted compact w/ weather) w/ 4' FS4-B Firestik & Comet RS 270 mount + spring and Amerex 5lb fire extinguisher + mount. Next month I'll be ordering my 885/895 OME springs and 255/75/17 tires (not sure what brand yet but I love the look)

Painted headlight housings black, plastidipped all emblems and grille, and installed 5000k HIDs from xenon depot.
The plastidip really looks nice, especially on the grille.
Also wetsanded the headlights and polished them. Will be sealing them up with some xpel wrap tomorrow.
The hids make a huge diffence in light output and the 5000k color temp gives the perfect white light tint without going too blue. The bulbs seem to pair well with the stock projectors. With all of the hoopla made over the "irreconcilable differences" in the optical requirements between hid projectors and halogen projectors, i don't find that to be the case with this kit in my 06 4runner. Cutoff looks sharp and no highbeam flashes so far.

It gave me something to work on during the heavy thunderstorms that came through tonight.
I drilled the center out to 5/32" and tried using an allen key with no success. So I grabbed a T25 impact bit and hammered it in with a 4 lb sledge, then turned the torque all the way down on my 1/4" impact driver and went to town on it. It popped right out, no damage to the caliper as far as I can tell. I blasted air through it to clear out any metal shavings, and I'll probably just put the regular bleeders back in.
Hopefully the weather is more cooperative tomorrow so I can wrap this up.
