What did you do with your 4runner today?

Thanks to my buddy Gaterose I finally got my Bilsteins 884/Superflex installed today. It was getting late so we were just able to grab some cell phone shots. Even though it was some hard work it was great hanging out and shooting the breaze. I will get some better pics tomorrow.

You didn't use the quick disconnects? It's designed to not leak. You disconnect from about 1 foot down the tubing.

Wow... I didn't see those quick connects. Every connection I removed leaked.

Thanks. Those tires are less than a year old so i will be keeping them unless somebody makes me a really good offer.

I picked up an 06+ grille locally, in case I want to do satoshi. now I need some headlights, and mesh grille, and study gaterose's satoshi mod

Thanks. Yeah, i had the DS but i guess because of the age of my stock springs and the weight of the V8, the front had really sagged. I wanted to try something different as well as getting it more level.

Thanks. I really haven't had a chance to see the ride difference. After we finished the install i jumped on the highway heading home, so that wasn't a real good test. It seems to ride good, but i will find out here in a little bit. I will work on getting some flex shots.....:bravo:

found out what plasti-dip was. just picked up some vat nightshades and doing the taillights this weekend then ordering some black housing halos for the front. also just got 5% tint all around and 30% on the windshield.

I had my DS on for about a year. The DS is in great shape. In my case I think it was the age of my springs that was causing it to sag a little. I was just ready for something different and had available hobby funds....:lol:

I do plan on upgrading it to synthetic rope, hell I might just end up getting a different winch, might go for warn.

Just looked at my gas panel cover, that area on top is split open, i guess its the bass that crack it, i know i should of dynamat that area too, gota look for a body shop to see how much it cost to fix.

Over the last 5 days, with my trusty Husqvarna chainsaw, I have probably have moved over 200 tons of fallen trees from neighbors driveways, out of section of smashed houses, garages and vehicles. In the process, shredding up my Arb recovery straps, amsteel winch rope and my spare ropes. The greatest part was helping the elderly who were helpless with all this damage.

The reason I post this is that folks always ask why I have my truck setup like I do, with all the gear (in such an urban area). And typically, I tell people that I use each item once or twice a year in helping someone stuck on the beach or the odd camping excursion. But this event made this vehicle and all it components from all the manufacturer shine, from quick hookups from the points on the bumpers to the lighting on the truck to see in areas without power. Is sure helps to have great gear and to be ready for foreseeable events.

Thanks to all here who have help with their setups and how it helped me help the helpless with Sandy. Keep up the sharing guys and be proud you helped someone, even if indirectly.
