What did you do with your 4runner today?

Changed the plugs today..... Looks like the ones I took out were original so at 90K it was certainly time.... Have LED replacements on order for the interior and running board lights....;-)

I did 4-5 coats of plasti-dip & 2 coats of glossy clear coat. I considered the gun metal plasti dip, but decided to go with black instead. I'm glad I did because I love the way it came out with my color.

Can you share how you shortened the caps? Aren't they press fit with a small lip at the end?

The caps have to be put in from the back of the wheel before they are mounted. They just have a lip on them. I ended up going back to the chrome caps. I liked the black, but they just were me.

When i cut them down i just measured in about an inch and made a mark. Then i put the caps on a flat surface, face down. Next to the caps i stacked up a couple of books and put a sharpie on top so that it lined up with the mark. This way i could just turn each cap against the sharpie and it made a perfect line all the way around them. After that i put painter's tape around the caps, right on the line. This gave me a good hard edge to follow with my Dremmel and cut off wheel (actually a few wheels). Once they were cut down and drum sanded i took a pair of Channel Locks and just made a new lip all the way around. Then i was just a matter of installing them. Here is a comparison pic of the black caps.

Here is the final pics with the chrome caps, before and after. I just think it is a cleaner look.

I don't have a pic of mine but that is what i did. I cut about half of the inside off and it works great. You really can't even tell it is cut, but it still helps keep most of the crud off the rocker panels and step tubes.

Ill just leave it alone and let the tire do its thing, i wonder if its bad to let the tire rub a lil hole to it. Anyway back yo the thread topic, i changed the vanity led, first i had the ones from vleds, then upgraded to the 5050 smd led, bigger led means more brighter.these have 3 of them in each just like the old one.
