Yeah I pretty much outgrew mud already haha. I'm sticking to just trails now. If there's mud on the trails, fine, but I won't go out of my way to hit mud pits any more.

I never understood the appeal of mud holes! I can't stand cleaning off mud for hours after a trail ride!

This. Washing my truck twice and still having mud in some spots is what did it for me, plus it can only do harm. It's fun going through it sometimes but not worth it to me anymore.

Growing up in Mississippi mud was pretty much all we had. Even the easiest of trails were mostly mud because it was so flat. Most of the area where i spent time was in the swamps along the Mississippi River. Having a Toyota was awesome because of the light weight and 38" tires, but that mud did wear out the equipment. Not worth the hassle now.

Trust me, as a 16 yr old, you couldn't keep me out of them but I quickly learned to stay away and watch others ruin their rigs!

Just ordered the lights for under the hood and the running boards. On another note I looked at the roof of my Runner and noticed a few rust spot. Has anyone touched up rust spots before? I have rust-oleum primer and plasti dip. lol

Sorry about the quality of the pic. It is one of the only ones i have of it, at least digitized. I know i have more pics of it somewhere, probably in my mother's attic. It was an '83 SR5. What a great truck and tons of memories. That picture was probably taken around 1987 or '88. It was stripped and painted a candy apple red my senior year.

Yeah, when i went off to college it was about a 5 hour drive and even with smaller tires it was just not good on gas, so we sold it my freshman year. As far as know it was used for a Fire and Rescue Vehicle for a town in Mississippi but i never heard for sure. I never saw it again either. I have always wondered where it was.

Those swirls shouldnt be there if by machine.

Since when does going off-road become acceptable to trash a vehicle.

Oh you take it off-road? :hail:

Paint looks good, just never understood why people associate trashed vehicles with off-roading. Like its some form of trophy, but i guess its socially acceptable.

I have the same. A couple slight surface rust spots on my roof. Wondering if plastidipping the roof would be ok? Yes I figured out the logistics and I know its a big surface area, but I have seen people do whole cars. Was thinking this would be cheaper than painting it or lineX it...thoughtd?

First, IMHO, my rig is not "trashed" it just means that, Im not a "poser" not a street queen. my rig isnt built to look good at the mall.

personally it doesnt matter what people think of me or my rig, I built it to be wheeled, I like washing and waxing it, keeping it looking nice, if you like it, cool, it not, thats cool too.

Yeah I have an idea on what to do but it's going to take some time. Gotta sand the spots to get rid of the rust first. Primer will hopefully keep the rust from coming back and spreading. After that I will paint it.

I had a little time today, so i inspected my kn drop in filter, nothing to worry there, little dusty for only 10k, but the hydrocarbon filter!!!! I cant believe my runner was sucking air through that filthy thing, so i took it out and its gone for gone

I had this perspective for a while, Just because you off-road doesn't mean your trashing your vehicle..

Then the trail carnage of the fun I obtained, quickly reminded me yes off-roading does trash your vehicle. However in my mind they've become battle scars to remind me of the awesome times wheeling and how if I had been an inch off my line so much more would have been destroyed.

don't get me wrong I would love a sleek clean paint job and scratch-less body but when I look back at the dents and scratches I've accrued, I only see the fun times I've had with all my good friends and those I've met through off-roading groups.
