Picked it up from my buddy's garage yesterday....

These things should really come from the factory with FJ coils....WOW

Ride is 100X better!! Corners like a sports car compared to the stock ones!!

Found out my front drivers side shock is on its way out. 5100's going within the next 2 weeks!!!

Looks like ill be hitting the tire shop today to try and swap out these 265/65's for 265/70's....

And to think I had ZERO plans on lifting it a few months ago. Damn you T4R.Org!!! lol

Thinking about going with JA's recommendation of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos

I finished with the last possible Electrical modification per JA's page. Man I've been busy! Blew a fuse in the 12v mod. I let the jumper wire touch a ground. Had to trouble shoot the fuse situation then get back to all time 12 v. Loving the map light mod! I did the super quick version of running it from the dome light.

Wheel spacer modification next. My main complaint about the 4th gen stance. After that probably some hidden winch since I plan to run street tread and go down into the woods

All y'all's talk about tires and lifts is tempting I'm holding off though for now

Doing a satoshi, rattle canning the wheels, installing my new CB, and plasti dipping the remaining chrome.

I'm getting my 265/70R17 Terra Grapplers put on. They've already called and told me it was ready. I'm just waiting on my Dad to get off work so that he can give me a ride out to pick it up. Tomorrow, we're putting the Daystar kit on

I think i am worse than my wife trying to pick out an outfit.....lol. I have been bouncing back and forth between tires and sizes. These are the sizes i am debating on:

• 275/70 18 (33.16" x 10.83")

• 265/70 18 (32.61" x 10.43")

• 285/65 18 (32.59" x 11.22")

• 275/65 18 (32.07" x 10.83")

I want them to be relatively wide. With the 18x9 wheels, even the 265's are wide. I just have to be careful about going too wide because of the -12 offset of my wheels.

Ha, I completely understand. I spent way too much time deciding before I bought mine. The worst part of it all is that I was convinced it would at least be over once I had pulled the trigger...not so. I'm already thinking about my next set and what I could/should do differently.

Knowing the way I feel after having bumped up to 285s, I would say the only real "upgrades" over your current tires are the 275/70 and 285/65s. I loosely use the word upgrade in regards to looks alone. The tricky part is trying to justify how much MPG you want to give up for looks since most of us really don't "need" 33s.

To make things even worse, I would add in the 295/65 Duratracs. I almost got 18s just to run that size.

im debating the same thing. I need tires soon, thinking of just lifting and going 285/65. These 265's are a little ballooned with 8.5's.

Well, I don't think they would add much more at all. If anything, they are the same weight of many 33" E AT (58lbs I think). I could see the extra 5mm (each side) width being an issue with your offset though.

For looks and mpg, I would get the 275s. That would be taller than 285/65s with a little less rolling resistance. Of course we're splitting hairs here as the difference would be minimal at best.

I always thought a 31x10.50 was a good size tire for a mildly used 4x4 truck I'm sure which ever you choose will look and work out great for ya. If you can run the 285's though bigger is always better from my young perspective lol..

Cleaned the MAF over lunch as well as upgraded to fully adjustable coil over suspension from Toytec as I didnt want to wait for my other shock and springs on back order. This weekend will consist of throttle body cleaning. I feel kind of productive.

EDIT: I dont know how but cleaned my TB tonight, and it was dirty black as was my MAF. Only 86k miles, but it sure does idle smoother and shift better.

The 285/65 18 is kind of in the lead right now.....if i have to blame anybody it is vtecmonster for posting these pics of his truck. He is the reason i got these wheels too!.....LMAO! We have the same 18x9 wheels with the same -12 offset. Those are 285/65 18 BFG KO's.......
