What did you do with your 4runner today?

I know right, nearly everyone else (at least those with builds I follow) already has one. I've been tossing around the 1" BL for a long time now...I need to just suck it up and do it. The 1" seems to be the perfect balance b/w enough lift to justify the install without all the added, extra work of steering spacers and look of overly-stretched bumpers.

I did the 1.25 today and my bumpers aren't too bad but I wouldn't want to keep them this way long term though. Luckily I'm building templates for custom bumpers front and rear next weekend with a buddy who has access to a CNC plasma cutter. Built to my exact wants/needs, even with my logo in the front, for a huge fraction of the cost.

The scoop is a subtle touch, surprised you caught that! Makes the scoop "pop" out a little bit.

Just did the re-lift last week. Still have some work to do but I gotta get some pictures of it. Crappy weather, too much work and travel, and a couple of kids take a lot of the time. I need to get the SLR and tripod out an do a shoot.

Got more pix of the hood? I think it's a nice touch. Mine is chipped & pockmarked to high hell. This may be on the to-do list soon.

Ha actually rode with my buddy in his wrangler today down to the gun range. Its fun but I do like my more civilized "trail ready" rig

My wife wanted to come and she doesn't trust my Jeep on the highway with my 1 yo son. I had a recent battle with death wobble on my Jeep so now she is scare to ride in it.

Makes sense, that death wobble is nasty stuff. My friend with an '09 Wrangler got it while he was following me. We had to pull over on the side of the highway because it was so bad and he was scared to drive it for the rest of the day. It didn't happen again though but he stayed at around 60 max

plasti dip

Plasti diped both of the side sport edition 4x4 emblems and all rear emblems. it looks good but I'm not extreamly happy with how it turned out. when I went to peel of the stuff it started trying to come off of the emblems in some places.

I did about 5 coats and did a shot for ever coat so that may have been my problem lol

Next I wana do the grill but i'm not exactly sure how I wana do it yet. has anyone used silver plasti dip ???

I did the rear pads today and pulled the HC filter. I haven't done a ton of auto work but the pads, front and back are a breeze on our 4runners.
