Nice. How'd that work out for the rope? I might have used something a little thicker, lol.
Makes me wish I had my 4Runner when I tore down part of our house back in the fall! Although I do have a clothes line with 3 cemented 8" round posts that I need to tear down...

I'm trying really hard not to copy your 4Runner, but this is pretty much exactly what I pictured when I bought my silver '03, but with gunmetal Sequoia/Tundra wheels since my sport wheels are trashed. Love the '06-'09 tails. Nice truck!

Decided to run allpro spacers 1.5" rear and keep my spidertrax in the front. I like the stance now giving it a fairly even poke! :canada:

Going to tackle the CV axles today, hopefully. On the right you can see what I was hinting about the other day.
It's the Daystar 2.5"/1.5" kit. I haven't decided whether or not I am installing it yet. I'm not doing new wheels/tires until the fall, so I may just do it then.
Here's what I was working on yesterday while I was waiting for UPS to deliver my 4Runner stuff:
Yes, that is A LOT of tape. Somebody threw away my stash of newspaper, so I had to improvise. LOL. I stocked up on Plastidip, so I figured I'd make a practice run on the wagon before I do the 4Runner. BTW, there's 4Runner content in all of these pictures, ha ha.
Today I'm going to peel off the areas around the badge lettering. Disregard the overspray on the tails, they're getting cleaned for a different project anyway.
I also did the grill and the front emblem (not pictured, still drying from an extra coat.)
Can't wait to do the 4Runner now!

lol holy crap dude, did you use enough tape on that VW? how long did that take? you should have just used newspaper. but the plasti-dip looks good. as always.
Wish I could get my hands on some more plasti-dip. stuff is so hard to get up here.

LMAO. You guys just had to point that out, huh? The only newspaper I had on hand was what you see there - just enough to cover the plate recess. It was trash day and SOMEBODY threw away my box of newspaper that I was saving. I got home from work at around 9 AM, right after trash pickup. I had just picked up some more plastidip and I was dead set on doing this today. I had already done all the cleaning, prep, and setup. I was less than pleased when I found my newspaper box was empty. I tried using thin cardboard first, but it was a little too heavy. That was the main reason I didn't mask the tails, I was freaking tired of taping, ha ha.

lol I figured there must have been a reason since you used one piece at least.
cant wait to re plasti-dip my 4Runnner, have a new scheme in mind. Once the weather is nicer, maybe tomorrow actually.

That was just primer coat. I thought about doing it white but in person the black looks better I think. I may change it up though since its only rattle can painted!

Drive to work for about half an hour. Returned to my rig with the lights still on, weird. I always hit the lock button twice to turn the lights off. The battery was draining but it started up after a few cranks. Looked at the dash and the 4LO and center locker lights were flashing, weird. Turned it off and restarted, fired right up and no lights. Oh well.

Tried to start it after it has sat for months with a leaking front diff... it's dead. It's the original battery and my charger indicated a "fault" so I no longer trust the battery. Time to start shopping for a battery. The factory axles are ready to go back in an hopefully this time I won't have a leak.

Went to retrieve my tires and rims being mounted by the shop and installed.
Cooper stt 265/70/17 tek3, put them on my past 04 rims I had and got board during the winter and painted and clear coated them.
So, while I'm installing these larger tires, I decided to install the extended links.
In the middle of this operation, the post man come by and gives me this envelope, :thanks: MOMO. Of course the mailman has to comment on the tires and rig, yah, seen them monsters in my way on the porch the other day. Looks good. Of course have to reply THANKS.
Now MOMO just made it so I have to wash her up and start with the stickers.
