The "travel table"
I enjoy a good saturday morning project. Yesterdays was a new table top for my hauler. Now have 4 different sizes? Each on was made to meet a specific need.
I made this one for my month long trip out west next month, WHOOT!
It's a combo between the "coffee table" and the "mini table". I wanted to eliminate the need to take a top on and off (switch between small and large) as well as freeing up storage room in the back.
The size and location allow me to lean the bike against it while loading it up yet still have a good size for camp use without the need to set up.
Here is a pix of the old "coffee table" I would use on the road. I would slide it under the REI bed pad when not in use and set it up at camp.
And the "mini table". Just big enuff allow me to load up the bike and lean it against it. My 3rd hand when I tie it down!
I hope that I get the best of both sizes with the new table top. No more set up, can still load the bike, and big enuff for camp use.
It's slightly off set to the drivers side to give a bit more room waling the bike up.

Hit 61k last night. Almost 1k per week. This is crazy haha.

I'm at 104,xxx. But also factor that maybe 1/4 of that is from racing.

pulled out the center console to try to fix or replace my aux jack. its really fun trying to get to the aux and 100w outlet. if anyone was wondering, no the aux and 100w plug will not fit in other blanks in the dash. also looking at a way to have a/c in the console. looking for a plug i can put in the back side so i can cut a whole in the console into the air duct and be able to close it
EDIT: easy fix, all it takes is a bit of electrical tape.

just wrap the cap on the back side of the audio jack with some electrical tape and put it back on and done. hard part is getting to it

After yesterdays fun on the trails I had bad sounds coming from the rear brakes, even after a nice power washing. I just did the rears, I found some extra stuff that's not supposed to be there like rocks, dirt, string, twigs and leaves. Tons of it. I needed rear pads anyway so its all good but I think I'm going to at least disassemble and clean the fronts too after seeing all the junk that collected in the rear. Never had a problem before, also concerned with my pulleys which were making all sorts of noise after getting wet and dirty.

Switched out the cheap RadioShack switches I had mounted in the center console for OEM FJ switches, mounted to the left of the steering column. I had drilled into the ash tray to mount the old switches, so I replaced it with the optional smokers kit to gain an additional 12v outlet. Then I took the two blanks and removed the rear air suspension controls.
Also made a lot of progress on getting my dads 87 ready for the road. First switched out the 29" Co-Op Grip Spurs for some used 31x10.50 Sport Kings, replaced ball joints and tie rod ends, and installed 1.5" ball joint spacers (installed the OEM coils from my 4runner on the rear a couple weeks ago).

Stagnant dirty water. Thankfully not mud. I HATE mud! I was on a logging road that was flooded so i rolled through slowly and went out towards the lake. Then i said screw it, its not mud so i blasted it. Itll be clean tomorrow.

finished putting on my nerf bars..not sure if i like them, they hang pretty low. But keeping them on for now.
