What did you do with your 4runner today?

Just received my refurbished HTC EVO LTE to replace my lost iPhone 4S and the actual device is in the Stone Age compared to the iPhone. Build quality is low, all plastic, screen is extremely unresponsive compared to iPhone and despite having double the RAM and a faster processor its still perceivably slower at every function.

I was looking optimistic into venturing into the "dark side" of smart phones as I have had iPhone since the 2nd generation but this thing is just bad!

Similarly, I fired up my old HTC Sensation 4G last night to get some old pictures off of it after having my iPhone 5 for a couple months now...it was miserable.

Does HTC just make crap phones? Did I get a bad refurb? I mean this phone isn't that old of a platform, the iPhone 4 I believe is older.

In my experience with HTC, they're good for a year and then start to slow down to the point where you're doing factory resets in hopes of restoring its performance. I've only had about 2-3 HTCs though. The Sensation was great for a while until it got so slow. I've never been big with installing a ton of apps either.

Well I did a factory reset obviously since the phone is new to me and I had planned on rooting it but its a little more intensive than jail breaking an iPhone so I will be stuck with crap until then. I think a nice light custom ROM will help things out because I saw on XDA forums people still using the original HTC EVO from 09 and running jelly bean on it.

I just loaded Jellybean Omega yesterday on my HTC Evo Shift after reading about it on XDA. Seemed pretty speedy and compairable to my Moto Droid Razr Maxx but was a bit glichy and would occassionally bootloop. I think my Shift is just to underpowered but I bet it work great on my wife's HTC EVO 3D, much more powerfull than my Shift so I reloaded my old ROM.

thats a considerable downgrade. the EVO is pure garbage. HTC is/was known for poor build quality. Buy something somewhat newer if you're interested in using Android. Jelly Bean was a MAJOR improvement for the android OS. I was a longtime Apple Fanboy but now turned to Android.
 
i know its been done before, but the looks on peoples faces when they see it made it worthwhile to copy

I'm not really interested its just all the phones sans the Galaxy line are dirt cheap and I lost my iPhone while under contract with Sprint. The phone seems more responsive now I am not sure what was going on when I first powered the device. I am definitely going to need to root it though...
 
I have had a couple people ask me if the Hybrid was a special order.........LMAO!!! When Zstampe sold his truck, the place that bought it actually listed it as a Hybrid, just because of the emblem.....lol!

living in a small new england town full of greenies, those more environmentally minded definitely look at it strangely, no one has had enough courage to ask yet!

since i put it on ive tried to park next to as many highlander hybrids (theres alot around here) as possible, you know the owners look at their own cars and think "well maybe...."
